Proclad's history as a specialist engineering Group goes back more than 100 years to 1905 when one of the Group's current subsidiary companies commenced the design and manufacture of reciprocating pumps for the shipbuilding industry in the UK.
The Group's development into its current position as the worldwide leader and specialist in the provision of corrosion resistant weld clad pipe and pipeline components and a provider of a wide range of engineering products and services can be traced back to 1985 when the 'Proclad' weld cladding process was developed for use in the North Sea Oil sector in Europe.
The Proclad process provided a solution to the corrosive effect of the very sour North Sea oil and gas and resulted in substantially reduced pipe and pipeline component costs and extended pipe and component lifetimes.
During the 1990's Proclad established manufacturing sites in the Middle East and North America and since 2000 the Group has undergone substantial expansion, both in terms of widely increasing its range of manufacturing technologies, products, processes and services and in increasing its manufacturing sites and sales offices to provide it with global coverage.
A key element in Proclad's growth and success has been its ongoing focus and investment in research and development. This has resulted in continuous improvement in its products and processes, many of which have been patented.
Proclad have manufacturing sites combining the full range of the Group's products and process located in the Middle East, Europe, the Asia Pacific region, the CIS, and North America. Locations in the Middle East include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

All products are supplied, tested and certified to International Material Standards. Full third party inspection facilities are provided if required and a comprehensive range of destructive, non-destructive and corrosive testing are available including ultrasonic testing, hardness testing, PMI, MPI, radiography, Eddy current, and DPI. All products and services are provided with full warranties and guarantees.
Proclad have made substantial investment in educational and training facilities and provide specialist training and knowledge transfer to engineering graduates and technicians on a worldwide basis.
The Group have been involved in providing engineering training and education for over 20 years and work in conjunction with local Universities and Colleges at each of the manufacturing locations.
Training courses provided vary from short-term product or process specific courses to graduate training and technician apprentice courses lasting up to four years. The courses combine classroom education and hands on practical training, leading to the award of internationally recognised qualifications and certificates.
