Project Scope 
This Central Processing Facilities is covered under BI10-03452.
The scope of work for the Khurais Central Processing Facilities package consists of the provision for upstream crude processing facilities. This will be used to support the production of 1,200 mbcd of Arabian Light (AL) crude from the Khurais area fields.
The crude facility is expected to process 1,300 Million barrels of crude per day.
A new Crude Processing Facility (CPF) will be installed at Khurais

Project Status
The Khurais AL Increment project was originally put on a fast track by Aramco.
A tender for the FEED is expected during 2004.
The project was subsequently put on hold.
As of late September 2004, it is believed that the project may be revived in 2005.
As of early February 2005, Aramco are conducting an internal DBSP and it is believed that the project will be brought alive in the seccond quarter of 2005.
The Soilcitation of Interest - SOI for the PMC and FEED for this package was issued in late March 2005.
Closing date to submit SOI is April 5, 2005.
The PMC ITB is expected to be released take place in April 2005.
The PMC contract award is expected in mid June 2005.
FEED for the package is targeted to start in July 005.
Funding approval is expected in July 2006 with project completion targeted in June 2009.
In May 2005, the PMC and FEED for the project as awarded to Foster Wheeler.
As of mid 2005, it is believed that LSTK prequalifications will be issued in Q3 2005. The package will be carried out on a convertible LSTK basis
A SOI submission request was issued by Aramco in Mid 2005.
As of mid September 2005, LSTK Prequalifications have been requested. The last date to submit documents is late September 2005.
Bid closing date was further extended to 8th October 2005.
A Jobex meeting is expected to take place in December 2005.
The Tender is expected to be released in Late 2005 with bid closing in February 2006.
In March 2006, the first Job Explanation meeting was held for the Khurais Crude Facilities and the Khurais Gas Facilities. This was followed that the next day with a site visit to the Khurais area.
The tender for the CPF was released in early 2006. Bid closing date has been set in mid May 2006.
Bids for the GOSP's & gas Processing facilities are due in early June 2006.
As of late June 2006, the following bids have been submitted:
• Snamprogetti - Crude Inlet Facilities Package;
• Technip - Crude Inlet Facilities Package;
• Saipem - GOSP Package; and
• Foster Wheeler / Hyundai - GOSP Package.
Contracts are expected to be awarded by late 2006.
As of mid July 2006, ShawCor have been awarded a contract for pipeline coating services. The contract awarded is worth approximately $60 million. Arabian Pipecoating Company represents ShawCor in the Kingdom and will provide anti-corrosion and other coatings and double jointing for the project.
As of early September 2006, contracts for the following packages have been awarded:
• The GOSP package has been awarded to Snamprogetti; and
• The CPF Package package has been awarded to JV of Foster Wheeler and Hyundai Engineering. The contract value is $ 850 million.
The milestone for the completion of the project detailed in the "Schedule section".

Project Structure
The project is being carried out by the Southern Area Projects Contracts Department of Saudi Aramco.
