What are some insights into the theme and key focus areas of Adipec 2023, and how do they align with the current trends and challenges in the industry?

Every government, industry, business and individual has a role to play in decarbonising quicker and creating the future of energy faster while safeguarding energy security and ensuring nobody is left behind, as we create lower carbon pathways to a sustainable, higher growth future.

It is against this backdrop that we are hosting Adipec 2023 under the theme of ‘Decarbonising. Faster. Together’, gathering industry decision-makers, innovators and financiers to accelerate decarbonisation through innovation and collaboration.

In this year of shared global attention on climate change and increased energy demand, we are organising Adipec with a renewed purpose and stronger ambition to unite industries to accelerate collective, responsible action, decarbonise quicker and future-proof our energy system.

Our continuous yearlong dialogue with the energy industry and beyond enables us to stay ahead of and identify key industry challenges, which we address through our comprehensive event agenda.

This year, the key industry challenges include reducing methane emissions, supporting the decarbonisation of heavy industries, facilitating finance and investment in low-carbon energy and clean technology, and generally scaling up decarbonisation efforts.

We have designed a rich conference and exhibition programme that tackles central topics in the global energy transition, platforms key technologies and industry thought leaders, and showcases the cutting-edge innovations and ideas that are helping to secure a sustainable energy future.

How is Adipec 2023 incorporating discussions and initiatives related to renewable energy, decarbonisation and environmental responsibility?

Decarbonisation is at the heart of Adipec 2023, permeating the entire event. With more than 200 strategic and technical sessions on decarbonisation alone, the low-carbon agenda is the key focal point for the Adipec conference programme.

The dedicated Decarbonisation Strategic Conference, now in its second year, brings together leaders from the energy spectrum to tackle topics ranging from overcoming barriers to decarbonisation to mobilising finance for low-carbon technologies and the critical role of innovation in fast-tracking the journey to a brighter energy future.

And, of course, there are our special exhibition offerings and initiatives that include the Decarbonisation Accelerator, Decarbonisation Connect, and the Decarbonisation Guide.

Within the specialised Decarbonisation Accelerator area, a dedicated Start-up Hub will host the pioneers presenting groundbreaking technologies advancing the future of decarbonisation and accelerating energy progress.

We have also curated dedicated exhibition offerings to support the development and deployment of technologies that advance sustainability and the deployment of cleantech.

The Adipec Digitalisation in Energy Zone is a specialised area focused on showcasing cutting-edge digital technologies that are providing solutions for a balanced energy transition.

The Maritime and Logistics Zone features technology and innovations that help the global maritime and logistics industries reduce carbon and methane emissions.

How does Adipec 2023 plan to facilitate pertinent policy and investment discussions and provide a platform for industry leaders to engage with policymakers?

Supportive policies and investment are critical ingredients in a robust energy ecosystem, enabling the development of new technologies and the utilisation of new clean energies.

Our ambition for Adipec 2023 is to support the resolution of key industry challenges on the path to net zero by serving as the world’s biggest platform to bring together diverse stakeholders to have open conversations on important topics including the role of policy and investment in accelerating the energy transition.

That is why we have designed Adipec 2023 to spark the innovative thinking and decision-making needed to solve industry challenges.

Across our 10 strategic and technical conferences and more than 350 conference sessions, 1,600-plus speakers will rally industries, sectors and individuals around a common cause, encouraging collaboration and the action required to advance the world’s decarbonisation goals.

How is Adipec inspiring the next generation of energy leaders?

Young people are critical to the future of the energy sector and the global energy transition, which is why we prioritise giving youth a seat at the table to ensure that the next generation of energy professionals are part of the discussion and equipped with the knowledge to pioneer the next phase of energy solutions.

Beyond our existing Young Adipec and expanded Future Leaders Programme, both of which work to engage youth in energy, this year we are also introducing our first Global Youth Council.

The Adipec Global Youth Council will convene 20 talented university students and young professionals to help shape the conversations at Adipec.

During Adipec 2023, the Global Youth Council members will engage with energy transition leaders and policymakers, liaise with senior energy leaders in a cross-generational dialogue on the energy transition, act as moderators in the Adipec Future Leaders Conference, and even be featured in a session of Adipec’s Energy Talks, a series of hard-hitting interviews with global industry CEOs, government leaders and industry experts.

Members will also participate in an Adipec Leadership Roundtable alongside energy sector leaders on how to incorporate the next generation of energy talent in the energy transition.

What are your expectations for the outcomes of Adipec 2023?
