Saroukhani ... future-focused

The company is constantly working to evaluate and align its goals in a very fast developing region, and clients who are keener to deal with a sustainable business model, Hessam Saroukhani, GM, Press Bolt Middle East, tells the OGN

Press Bolt Middle East’s investment in expansion and new product lines is a testimony that the company is agile and looks at the emerging challenges in the energy sector as opportunities.

In an exclusive interview, Hessam Saroukhani, GM, Press Bolt Middle East, tells the OGN energy magazine, how his company is navigating this fast changing business landscape.

How long has Press Bolt been participating in Adipec?

Ever since Pressbolt established its regional hub and manufacturing plant in the UAE, we have been participating in Adipec. The event has served as a key meeting point with our clients coming from the US, Europe and the Mena region.

What is your company showcasing at Adipec this year?

Our core products are fasteners. However, following our recent investment in 2023, we are showcasing two additional ranges of products to demonstrate ourselves as a one-stop shop solution provider for sealing solutions (gaskets) and precision machined components.

What major projects are you executing in the UAE and elsewhere in the region?

The Dalma Gas, Hail and Gasha and PP4 have been our main projects in the UAE this year thanks to our post-Covid investment in various areas of our business, such as expansion of our facility, increase in raw materials stock and acquisition of new machinery.

We are also see growing interest in our products and services in Saudi Arabia and the Asia Pacific region. This is due to the post-Covid growing demand versus supply gap.

How are your solutions to help organisations achieve sustainability and decarbonisation?

Press Bolt is constantly investing in new technologies

I believe corrosion has been one of the biggest challenges in our industry across the Middle East. Corrosion significantly increases the cost of maintenance and reduce the life of assets.

We have recognised this challenge and we continue to work on providing better solutions to our clients.

We work with some of the industry leaders in providing high corrosion resistant coatings by using nanotechnology.

What are Press Bolt ME’s own decarbonisation and sustainability goals?

Press Bolt’s goals are closely aligned with the UAE’s vision for sustainability and decarbonisation.

Since we have an experience of using solar power at our head office in Italy, we are introducing the same within our UAE facility.

What technologies are you introducing to address sustainability?

In recent years, there have been strong commitments from the energy sector toward sustainability, and as a result we see new technologies introduced every day to support these goals.

It’s part of Press Bolt’s growth strategy to continuously invest in new technologies and move away from the conventional working style. This includes latest technology such as CNC machines and a rapid move towards digitalisation.

What does value creation mean for Press Bolt?

We are constantly working to evaluate and align our goals in a very fast developing region. Our clients nowadays are keener to deal with a sustainable business model.

For example, Adnoc, particularly in recent years, has been keeping a very close eye on how local manufacturers progress and develop and invest in their businesses.

We, therefore, ensure to demonstrate we meet these expectation by introducing new technologies, creating jobs for the local workforce and contributing to the local culture.

What’s your take on the UAE’s energy transition roadmap?

The UAE has demonstrated a strong will toward its targets and goals. In the recent years, we have seen how the country has shown its resilience toward global challenges, including the pandemic, to become a global hub for many industries but also global events.

We can clearly see that with the UAE leading COP28, there is a different drive towards climate change action.

One of the most effective ways of leadership is leading by example, which I believe the UAE is currently doing. And we are ready to give all it takes to reach our goals in this country.

Press Bolt Middle East will be in Hall 9, Stand 9550, at Adipec.
