GEYAD for Industry and Contracting Co Ltd (Formerly Geyad for Commerce and Import Co Ltd), one of the leading Saudi Arabian fabricators of structural steel, pressure vessels, storage tanks and pipe spools, is looking ahead to expand its customer base after commissioning its new production unit and increasing its structural steel fabrication capacity as well as capability to fabricate higher thickness pressure vessels.
The company has recently become an approved vendor of Saudi Aramco for fabricating higher thickness pressure vessels up to 38 mm thickness and larger diameter storage tanks up to 30 metres.
Geyad’s general manager Naif Ababtain states that the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction is the secret of its business success as it is able to retain its customer base even in difficult times. Geyad, established in 1980, has grown over the years to become one of the leading steel fabricators in Saudi Arabia. The company is registered with SGS for ISO 9001:2008. It is accredited with ASME “U” stamp related to pressure vessel fabrication and “R” and “NB” stamps from the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI).
Over the years, Geyad has supplied shop fabricated structural steel for Saudi Aramco’s mega projects like Qatif, Hawiyah, Khursaniyah, Khurais and to Sabic’s Safco and Kemya projects. Other major projects executed include water cooling project in Ras Laffan, Qatar, Chevron Phillips, Satorp and Sadara. Geyad has also supplied shop fabricated pressure vessels, storage tanks and pipe spools as well as site erected tanks to various projects over the years.
According to Ababtain, Geyad provides a comprehensive design and detailing facility for steel structures, tanks and pressure vessels, utilising state-of-the-art design software.
“Geyad operates on strict Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures for its manufacturing processes. Internal and external quality audits are carried out by certified auditors. Welding inspection is carried out by AWS qualified inspectors. Geyad has in house NDT testing facilities carried out by certified Level II inspectors,” he elaborates.
Geyad’s product portfolio falls into five principal categories: structural steel; pressure vessels; storage tanks; pipe spools and miscellaneous structures. Its manufacturing capabilities include plate rolling upto 50 mm thick and 3 m wide and CNC controlled cutting, drilling and coping. Geyad is spread over three units in Dammam 2nd Industrial City and it also has a stock yard with a combined area of 77,250 sq m. Geyad is an approved vendor with Saudi Aramco, SEC, Sabic, Marafiq and Ministry of Defence and Aviation.
Ababtain informs that Geyad’s new unit will be commissioned shortly in Dammam 2nd Industrial city and will boost its structural steel and pressure vessel capacity. The company has increased its rolling capacity and its application for qualification as vendor for higher thickness (19 mm to 38 mm) pressure vessels with Saudi Aramco is under process.
