Fosroc has been involved in Oman project

Fosroc, a premier supplier of materials and coating solutions to the construction industry, announced its aims to triple sales into the construction and oil and gas sectors next year.

The announcement comes on the back of positive business results year to date and the fact that Al-Gurg Fosroc, the company’s Dubai based entity, completed an impressive 100,000 sq m of polyurea coating this year in the Middle East.
Fosroc Nukote Polyurea is also in the process of gaining approval for use in oil field tanks and pipelines by Shell Global Solutions.
Nukote Coating Systems has initiated a complete pre-qualification process for use with Shell Design Engineering Practices.
The approval includes internal and external pipeline coatings, (corrosive and non-corrosive service) internal tank coatings for use with crude and refined petroleum and petrochemical storage among others.
This step would open up huge opportunities for the company in the oil and gas sector.
“In anticipation for our projected growth next year and the opening up of the oil and gas sector to Fosroc Nukote Polyurea, we have increased our capacity to deliver projects by appointing specialised applicators in each of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries,” said Philip Munro, Fosroc vice president Gulf States.
“Fosroc Polyurea coating is the first polyurea coating to be introduced to the construction industry in the Middle East.”
Some of the major projects where Fosroc Nukote Polyurea has been used include the Dolphin Gas project in Qatar, Al-Reem Bridge, which connects Abu Dhabi Island to Al-Reem Island and the Maweelah flyover in the Sultanate of Oman, where the polyurea coating was used for ‘bridge deck waterproofing,’ on which very high temperature asphalt was laid.
Fosroc Nukote Polyurea is superior in applications where high abrasion resistance, corrosion protection and waterproofing or structural enhancement are required. The product is totally free of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and therefore environmentally friendly.
Fosroc Nukote Polyurea technology is tried and tested. It has been in use for more than a decade and is more advanced than traditional coating systems offering many advantages, mainly its high cure rate, which ranges from three to 10 seconds from the time of application.
Nukote Coating Systems International (Nukote) and Fosroc Group Holdings Ltd (Fosroc) announced the execution of a global agreement where Fosroc became the global master distributor of Nukote products, which includes Fosroc Nukote Polyurea.
