Adipec 2004, the 11th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference, beat all expectations with record-breaking success.
The event broke all previous records with 38,563 trade professionals visiting, over the four days of the event.
A conference session that was conducted along with the exhibition had 2,698 delegates.
“We are pleased that Adipec 2004 has not only met, but surpassed all expectations and has been an outstanding show. The response has been overwhelming, encouraging us to make the 2006 event bigger and better, said Ahmad Humaid Al Mazrouie, director-general, General Exhibitions Corporation, the organisers of Adipec 2004.
“The next edition of Adipec will be held in two years and will take place from November 5-8, 2006. We also expect to attract petrochemical companies to Adipec 2006,” added Al Mazrouie.
“Unlike other premier shows, Adipec is the only event to have the presence of companies from around the world, which are specialised in manufacturing, end users, service providers and others, said Ashok Pillai, project manager, Adipec 2004.
“This has resulted in several business deals being signed during the show, as well as product launches. The response on measurement parameters, including visitors, exhibitors, conference delegates and media, was far beyond our expectations. Adipec has now established itself as one of the top three oil and gas shows in the world.”
A total of 1,209 companies from 54 countries took part and the total gross area of exhibit space was 30,000 square metres, compared to 21,000 the last time.
Adipec 2004 also had 11 national pavilions participating. The event saw several high-profile visitors. It had several new introductions such as Adipec Golf Day and Geological field trips for conference delegates.
The Oil Career Fair, an international recruitment initiative, which takes place at the world’s most prominent oil and gas conferences and exhibitions, was also organised at Adipec 2004.
At the prestigious Adipec awards ceremony, held at the Rotana Beach Hotel and Resort, Abu Dhabi, France won the 'Best Country Pavilion' award. Total received the 'Best Stand' award. Other winners included Emdad for 'Best Group Pavilion', Macchi for 'Best Medium-Size Stand' and Jogmec for 'Best New Technology launched at Adipec 2004'.
