Utilising state-of-the-art technology, NPCC has, since 1993, been performing thermoplastic coating of pipes from 3" to 48" outer diameter.
Starting with small pipe coating facilities in 1978, NPCC says that it may be the largest pipe coating contractor in the Middle East, and one of the largest in the world.
Two years ago NPCC developed and used, for the first time in the world, the auto blasting technique for Adnoc's 23 tank project at Ruwais (approximate total surface area 726,000 sq m), which, according to NPCC, contributed favourably to health, safety and environment (dust-free during blasting).
The 250,000 sq m coating and painting yard includes covered sheds and open storage areas for bare pipes, coated pipes and material. The yard is divided into subsections:
NPCC utilises heavy equipment during the coating operations, such as heavy forklifts (40 to 45 tonne capacity), cranes (50 to 125 tonne capacity) and shovel loaders.
NPCC's major clients in the UAE include Adnoc, Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (Adma-Opco), Adco, Zakum Development Company (Zadco), Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (Adgas), Bunduq, Dubai Electricity & Water Authority and Total ABK.
Major international clients include Saudi Aramco, KOC, KNPC, AOC, QGPC, Maersk Oil Qatar, TotalFinaElf, Qatargas, Occidental Petroleum, Bechtel, Saipem, Snamprogetti, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Hyundai, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) of India, National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Pencol, Mannesmann, Mitsubishi, Technip and others.
NPCC has carried out coating and painting work for projects in Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iran and India.
