Background

As a part of Marjan oilfield expansion, Aramco plans to build the Gas Oil Separation Plant (GOSP)-4 complex, which will be designed to handle 475,000 bpd of oil, 813,000 bpd of liquids and almost 750 million cu ft per day of gas. Aramco plans to develop its gas-driven fields such as Marjan offshore field.


Project Status

As of January 2022, Heerema Marine Contractors has won a contract with McDermott to transport and install six large jackets for Package 1 of the Marjan Field Expansion.


Project Scope

The project scope involves the removal and salvage of existing gas turbine generators; installation of two 115-kv subsea power and communication cables; replacement of two platform decks. It also includes various facilities and platforms, gas compression platform, tie-in platform, etc. Additionally, it includes one 36-inch subsea oil trunk line totaling 100 km, and two subsea cables to connect the offshore facilities to the Marjan field’s existing onshore facilities. Under McDermott's contract, 3W Networks will provide a transmission system.
