Shanghai Electric, a Chinese multinational equipment manufacturing company, has completed operation of its Manah-1 Solar IPP project in Oman.

The project aims to produce 1.5 billion kWh per annum, reducing carbon emissions by 780,000 tonnes.

The integrated strategy, which includes design, planning, procurement, construction, and long-term operation and maintenance, has led to an efficient, sustainable energy system.

Shanghai Electric partnered with France’s EDF under a dual-track agreement to meet Oman’s strict technical requirements, adopting a "split-team" approach.

The project management splits construction into 11 sections, reducing timelines by 22 per cent.
