The King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre (KAPSARC) and the Saudi Association for Energy Economics (SAEE) have announced the Call for Papers for the 4th International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) MENA Conference, scheduled for December 7–8, 2026 at the KAPSARC campus in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Held under the theme “Rethinking Energy Security and Economic Resilience in a Fragmented World,” the conference will bring together economists, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to examine key challenges shaping the global energy landscape.

The event will explore issues including energy security, evolving oil and gas markets, trade and supply chain resilience, industrial policy, climate action, critical minerals, and the energy transition.

Participants are invited to submit original research papers, policy analyses, and case studies covering a broad range of energy economics topics.

Key areas of focus include energy market dynamics, fiscal sustainability in resource economies, economic diversification, electricity systems, LNG markets, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, sustainable finance, artificial intelligence and energy demand, infrastructure resilience, and emerging energy technologies.

Organisers said the conference aims to provide a platform for knowledge exchange and policy dialogue, supporting discussions on the future of energy security, investment, and economic transformation in the MENA region and beyond. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
