Established IN1976 as a Swiss-Saudi joint venture, Global Suhaimi Company is part of the Alsuhaimi Group of Companies.

In 1989, Alsuhaimi Group acquired all its shares and converted it to 100 per cent Suhaimi entity with top Saudi management. Transfer of ownership also resulted in a new IT strategy with in-house data processing and auditing capabilities.

As a specialist contractor in the field of surface preparation and protective coatings, the majority of its activities are concentrated in oil, gas and petrochemicals, water desalination, power and communications sectors. Alsuhaimi Group has adopted a diversification strategy of its activities since the early seventies and entered the specialised maintenance sector to protect national valuable assets from degradation, corrosion and fire, which can drastically reduce the productive life of these expensive infrastructures.

A new cadre of highly qualified Saudi and foreign engineers were recruited to supervise the company's experienced site crews throughout the Kingdom. The management and supervisory staff are multinational with extensive professional training and many years of experience in their respective trades. The permanent labour force is more than 500, of which the majority have been with the company for 10 years or more. Up to another 300 workers, foremen, supervisors and other specialised personnel can be immediately deployed from the company's manpower suppliers to cope with seasonal or emergency demands (such as shutdown maintenance, accidental requirements etc).

Global Suhaimi is headquartered in Dammam and has fully equipped and manned branch offices in Jeddah, Yanbu, Riyadh, Jubail and Ras Tanura.

The company is also active in the Indian subcontinent, from its headquarters in Chennai under the name of Global Suhaimi India Pvt Ltd, providing industrial maintenance services to government and private sectors all over India. It is operated and managed by a team of fully trained and experienced managers and technical staff. A second branch is under preparation and will be located in Dhabol in Gujarat. Another joint venture is under establishment in India to produce thermoplastic paints for roadmarking and future diversified production lines shall include industrial and decorative coatings, road markers, signage and other safety related products. Plans for further geographical expansions are under consideration to offer its distinct services to any region that can prove economically viable, either solely or in association with multinational companies active in such areas.

Global Suhaimi's priority, however, is to target countries in the Gulf and outside the Middle East, including the Caspian nations and East Asia in the form of joint venture partnerships or branches. The company is already in the final stages of negotiations with a group of international business associates to invest in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The range of business activities includes manufacturing, real estate, construction and agricultural sectors. In addition, a branch will be opened soon in Abu Dhabi, extending services to cover the UAE.

The company is also considering expanding its cathodic protection, chemical cleaning and insulation services in all of these regions gradually.

The specialised maintenance field is risky unless one takes a professional approach. Global Suhaimi, as part of the increasing improvement in its services, has documented its already established Quality Control Systems and successfully obtained certification of TUV-CERT of Germany in 1996, and has continually had it renewed.

Global Suhaimi presently provides: surface preparation and cleaning by blasting with different abrasives or high pressure water jetting, or wet blasting of both industrial structures and residences, high performance painting and coatings, fireproofing, fiberglass lining, resistant floor coating from abrasion or chemical, concrete repair, thermoplastic and cold markings for roads, airports, supply and installation of traffic warning and informative signs and lane dividers, cathodic protection, chemical cleaning, in addition to man and equipment hire, sale of construction and chemical materials, spraying equipment, abrasives, quality control instruments, painting material and solar lights and equipment.
