Linde-Sigas know-how ranges from conventional gas generation for the improved production of transport fuels to futuristic technologies. Established in 1955, Saudi Industrial Gas Co Ltd (Sigas) is the first industrial gases company to be set-up in Saudi Arabia. In 2008, the Linde Group acquired majority share in Sigas and became Linde-Sigas. Today, Linde-Sigas, which employs about 400 people, is the second biggest industrial gases company in Saudi Arabia. The company has established plants in Dammam, Jeddah, and filling station in Dammam, Riyadh, and Jeddah.

The Specialty Gases Division (SGD) of Linde-Sigas manufactures ultra high purity and carrier grade pure gases, medical gas mixture, environmental gas mixture and welding gas mixture using highly reliable and gravimetric technology. SGD products are of international standards and traceable to NIST – USA (National Institute of Standards & Technology) standard.

Linde-Sigas’ projects division has developed in-house expertise in building and setting-up of piped medical and industrial gases supply systems. Linde-Sigas supplies refrigeration gases of various grades and internationally reputed brands. “We supply in various packaging in ISO tanks, 1-tonne tanks, refillable and disposable cylinders,” Beretsos says.

The company provides added value to its customers through a wide product range of hard-goods which include welding consumables, oxy-fuel equipments and welding accessories and also safety products from leading manufacturers around the world.

Linde-Sigas has been growing simultaneously over the years to fulfil the market demand, as Saudi Arabia is getting bigger and became a major fuel consumer for all refineries and petrochemical plants, Beretsos says.

The company is working in line with the Saudi strategic endeavour towards increasing their utilised share of the oil in house in order to become more self-sufficient in petrochemical products and attracting foreign capitals to invest locally, he adds.
