Leigh’s paints business unit is dedicated to satisfying the varied and technically demanding requirements of the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors.
Leigh is unique in the fact that they manufacture both protective coatings and epoxy passive fire protection, it says.
As suppliers to the offshore oil and gas industry since the start of North Sea exploration, the UK-based Leigh has a comprehensive range of protective coatings to suit all needs.
With its dedicated technical team, Leigh is able to offer a bespoke specification service, with complete backup at all stages of a project.
Leigh is unique in manufacturing both protective coatings and epoxy fire protection for hydrocarbon fires, as well as epoxy thermal insulation, it says.
Leigh has supplied high performance protective coatings to the ‘onshore’ petrochemical industry for decades, both in the UK and overseas. Its dedicated technical team are able to offer site survey and maintenance specifications. As well as corrosion protection it manufactures high performance linings for tanks and vessels, fire protection and thermal insulation.
Leigh’s range of products provide for the protection of vessel internal and external surfaces. Formulated from high quality vinyl ester resins and glass flake the Duraglass range offers exceptional abrasion and chemical resistance for the internal lining of process vessels.
External protection is afforded by its range of Epigrip epoxy coatings and Resistex polyurethane finishes.
External insulation and fire protection is available with its Firetex products designed specifically for the oil, gas and chemical industries. Using the same base resin systems these products have guaranteed compatibility with our primers and top coats.
Whether pipes are sub-sea, buried or above ground Leigh will provide maximum corrosion protection, insulation or fire protection, it says. For process pipework operating between 80 deg C and 150 deg C corrosion under insulation (CUI) can be completely eliminated by the use of Firetex M89 epoxy thermal insulation.
A complete range of high performance coatings, tested to the rigorous requirements of the sub-sea market is available, including a wet applied epoxy thermal insulant.
Leigh manufactures both coatings and epoxy PFP. Firetex M90 is currently the only epoxy PFP to be manufactured by a British company, it says.
The product is solvent free, even in application, and has inherent corrosion protection and low water uptake. Tested and certified to Lloyd’s, DnV, etc for hydrocarbon, jet fire and blast scenarios, M90 has complete inter-coat compatibility with Leigh’s extensive range of protective coatings.
