Despite some disruption to production at Bahrain Petroleum Company's (Bapco) refinery last month, the actual crude run for the month was 263,600 barrels per day (bpd).
This output exceeded the initial Definitive Operating Plan (DOP) requirement of 262,000 bpd.
The required DOP crude run was achieved in spite of the shutdown and slowdown of a number of process units last month following a refinery-wide power outage and slop processing that was generated during the shutdown period.
This demonstrates the timely restoration of power and re-commissioning of all process units with minimum lost profit opportunities.
This achievement reflects the high levels of performance in operation, dedication and professionalism of the company's workforce, said Bapco chief executive Abdulkarim Al Sayed.
He expressed his thanks and appreciation to all Bapco employees who were involved in managing the power outage incident, and then in ensuring that the refinery recovered effectively and efficiently.
"The most important achievement is that all of these associated activities were carried out safely and without any serious incident," he added.
"We should all be proud of how we handled this incident, and minimised losses. This is a true reflection of the professionalism and loyalty of Bapco's employees," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
