Mitsubishi Power, part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, will supply advanced M701JAC gas turbines for Qatar’s Facility E Independent Water and Power Project (IWPP), in partnership with Samsung C&T and KAHRAMAA.
Located south of Doha, Facility E will generate 2.4 GW of electricity—around 20% of Qatar’s grid—and produce 495,000 tonnes of desalinated water daily, supporting growing national demand.
The hydrogen-ready turbines enhance efficiency and grid stability, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030 and decarbonisation goals.
Mitsubishi Power also signed a long-term service agreement to ensure high reliability, with operations set to commence in 2028.
