New Gambia Petroleum DG

Gambian President Adama Barrow has appointed Cany Jobe as Director General of the Gambia Petroleum Commission, a move set to advance the country’s oil and gas sector.

With 18 years of international experience, Jobe will lead regulatory reform, promote offshore and onshore acreage, and attract global exploration investment.

Situated in the promising MSGBC Basin, The Gambia offers strategic offshore blocks, growing seismic data, and improving legislation.

Jobe’s leadership is expected to translate geological potential, regulatory improvements, and investor engagement into sustained upstream development and frontier exploration success.
