Researchers at Hanbat National University have developed a wearable, stretchable ammonia (NH3) gas sensor that provides both visual and electronic detection of harmful NH3 levels.
Combining chemiresistive and colorimetric sensing in a single platform, the device delivers ppm-level sensitivity and maintains accuracy even if one sensing mode fails.
It performs reliably on human skin under high humidity and mechanical stress.
Potential applications include worker safety in industrial, agricultural, and refrigeration environments, noninvasive health screening, and vehicle NH3 monitoring, paving the way for "smart PPE" that reduces exposure risks.
