Wartsila has secured an order to supply 24 Wartsila 50SG engines for a US power plant serving a data centre, booked in Q1 2026.

The engines will deliver 429 MW, offering high efficiency, reliability, and flexibility for primary power and balancing needs.

With fast-start capability, they can quickly respond to fluctuating data centre demand or intermittent renewable generation.

Deliveries are scheduled to meet the project’s timeline, with commercial operations expected to begin in late 2028 to early 2029. n
