Fluor has been awarded a multi-year contract by American Centrifuge Operating, a subsidiary of Centrus Energy, to expand its low-enriched uranium (LEU) and high-assay LEU (HALEU) enrichment facility in Piketon, Ohio.

Fluor will serve as the integrated engineering, procurement, and construction partner, leading design, supply chain management, construction, and commissioning.

The expansion is part of a multi-billion-dollar investment to add thousands of centrifuges, es-tablishing Centrus as a leading LEU supplier and increasing HALEU production for advanced re-actors.

The Piketon plant is the only licensed HALEU facility in the Western world.

The project is expected to create over 1,300 Ohio jobs, boost local economic growth, and strengthen US energy infrastructure and national security.
