Project background
Abu Dhabi Marine Areas Operating Co plans to build Das atmospheric flare revamp project in Das Island, Abu Dhabi to reduce the quantities of hydrocarbon gas purge in the atmospherwe.

Project Status
• May 2013, Technip awarded the EPC contract.
• January 2013, EPC contract has still to be awarded.
• November 2012, Consolidated Contracting Company submitted the lowest bid.

Project scope  
The project consists of:  
• Two new enclosed ground flares of 50 mmscfd; and
• Two new 60 inches lines and replacing 42 and 48 inches line.

The scope of work includes the relocation of the south relief flare to the east of the existing flare F-14, installation of two new ground flares at the existing South Relief flare location, demolition of the F-11 and F-14 flares, replacement of a tip for flare, new electrical substation.

Some modifications needed;
• Replacement of existing elevated flare tip;
• Extension of the existing 28 inch south relief flares and fuel gas skid;
• Demolition of two finger flares; and
• Single integrated panel covering the three flares.
