Hi-Force has experience with heavy lift applications

Hi-Force has supplied to numerous bridge construction, elevated road and rail viaduct projects as well as specialised high tonnage lifting projects around the world, and continues to be the supplier of choice for many customers

Hi-Force, the UK’s leading hydraulic tools manufacturer, offers products that are specifically designed for heavy duty lifting and lowering, construction, maintenance, presswork and industrial applications.

Used in a wide range of industries including oil and gas, heavy engineering, construction, railways and shipbuilding, Hi-Force’s hydraulic tools can be relied upon to deliver optimum quality to the most challenging or hazardous of projects.

"Key to this reliability is the company’s commitment to research and development, which also ensures Hi-Force remains at the forefront of high pressure, hydraulic tool technology," says Laura Thompson, Group Marketing Director.

The company’s 50,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility located in Daventry, UK, houses numerous DMG Mori CNC machines, offering state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities.

Machines such as the DMG Mori SL603 Lathe have dramatically reduced the delivery time for custom-manufactured and standard high tonnage hydraulic cylinders. The 4-axis machine is capable of machining hydraulic cylinders up 1,000 tonne capacity and 1,200 mm stroke, and has an impressive spindle power allowing up to 10 mm of material to be removed from each side on both the OD and bores.

Hi-Force also boasts a wide range of single and double acting hydraulic cylinders comprising low height and multi-purpose cylinders, hollow piston cylinders, high tonnage cylinders, failsafe lock ring cylinders and lightweight aluminium cylinders. Standard cylinder capacities range from 4.5 to 1,012 tonnes with stroke lengths up to 508 mm. Custom designed options can be manufactured to meet specific and unique customer requirements worldwide.

Additionally, a choice of hydraulic pumps are available for use with Hi-Force hydraulic cylinders, ranging from steel or aluminium manually operated pumps to air, electric, battery or petrol-driven powered pumps. All hydraulic pumps are designed for operator convenience, each with a maximum working pressure of 700 bar and reservoir capacities up to 200 litres.

Complementing the heavy lifting products range are the multi-functional fixed and variable speed drive synchronous lifting systems from Hi-Force. The SLF fixed drive and SLV variable drive ranges have been designed for precise and controlled lifting and lowering of heavy loads and structures using multiple synchronised hydraulic cylinders.

Both the SLF and SLV ranges can be used with single or double acting cylinders in different configurations and are offered with pump units up to 400 litres reservoir capacity.

The SLF range of fixed speed systems is available in a choice of six models with a selection of outlet valves ranging from 4- to 8-outlet pump and options of 3- and 4-way valve configurations.

Meanwhile, the SLV variable speed systems offer a choice of 14 models with a selection of outlet valves up to 32-outlet pump, with single or double acting controls on each outlet.

The systems have 700 bar/10,000 psi pressure transducers fitted as standard on each outlet and allow readings to be relayed to the control panel.

Additionally, string pot displacement sensors are fitted as standard with alternative displacement sensors available on request.

Built with a robust framework to withstand the demands of operation in harsh environments and high usage applications, the SLF and SLV models can be adapted to suit customer’s special lifting requirements.

Ease of operation from a centralised control point, real time load lift monitoring and a user-friendly design that allows safe and efficient movement of loads are the key features of the SLF and SLV synchronous lifting systems, which meet and exceed the demands of the industry.

In addition to an extensive product offering, Hi-Force also offers a range of services to its customers, including first-class on-site services for lifting and jacking applications.

Available globally through the company’s regional offices and participating distributors, on-site services combine the expertise of highly trained and experienced crews with the high quality reputation of Hi-Force products.

Hi-Force’s on-site technicians have experience with various types of heavy lift applications requiring multiple numbers of high tonnage cylinders, pumps, hoses and accessories, including bridge lifting, cantilever and steel structure weighing and a variety of lift and shift applications.

Hi-Force has supplied to numerous bridge construction, elevated road and rail viaduct projects as well as specialised high tonnage lifting projects around the world, and continues to be the supplier of choice by many customers.

Within the Mena region, Hi-Force tools have been used in notable projects such as Riyadh Metro Project and King Faisal Road Intersection Project in Saudi Arabia, Jamal Abdul Nasser Street Project in Kuwait, and Dubai Metro Link Viaduct Project in the UAE.

"Through investment in facilities, product design and manufacturing capabilities and with nearly four decades of hydraulic tool manufacturing and technical sales experience, Hi-Force is certainly a company that can be trusted with current and future hydraulic tool demands," concludes Thompson.
