

Accent was set up in late 2003 and within a short span of time it has established itself as one of the leading players in the field of prefabricated housing.
Located in Hamriya Free Zone, Accent is run by three partners, who together have 50 years experience in the field. One of the partners, based in Sharjah, is a pioneer in portable cabin industry.
The company's sales are increasing and its market is expanding. The company's sales in 2003 were Dh3.6 million ($. Last year it reached Dh17 million and this year Accent expects the figures to reach Dh34 million.
The company has a high professional standing in the industry and is known as a versatile and competent engineering company that can be relied upon for meeting the clients requirements - portacabins, bunk houses, oilfield caravans, steel buildings; fiberglass products (water storage tanks, instrumentation shades, cable joint boxes, car shades, enclosures & kiosks, waffle moulds); project materials - fencing system, manhole covers and frames, gratings, scaffolding and formwork, lighting poles, guard rails /cash barriers, saw/seamless pipes.
The company has executed a large number of projects in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Djibouti, Mozambique, Tanzania and Pakistan.
"We have export order from Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Libya and Iraq," says a company representative.
"Our manufacturing facility is located on over 20,000 sq m land in Hamriya Free Zone. All raw materials are available locally and are transported to the site.
"Business is booming and we are very busy. There are over 120 people in our factory. We manufacture custom designed units, including double storey units.
One of its biggest projects was the site office for Dubai Festival City. The contract was worth Dh1 million.
Some of the other projects include - Dodsal in Habshan for Adnoc; accommodation for Qatar Petroleum.
"We are expecting a lot of work to come in from Abu Dhabi as the Emirate has initiated a lot of projects following the rise in oil prices," the company representative said.
"We have good relationship with our clients and get a lot of repeat orders."
Accent factory can manufacture 150 caravans a month worth Dh1.6 million. Safety standards are put into place both at manufacturing facility and on site. Raw materials used for the manufacturing process are of very high standards.
Its products meet safety standards are equipped with fire alarm systems. It also uses fire protection paints.
The company has the capacity to install 8-10 caravans a day.
"Speed of installation is very important today as all the projects are fast track. For example we erected 3000 sq.m offices for DFC in eight weeks time. It is a labour intensive job," adds the representative.
Accent was established end of 2003 with 20 staff strength. Today it has 120 on board. There are about 10 -12 players in the field. Accent has the capacity to execute projects fast.
Requirements for the oil and gas sector are different, specifications are different.
Materials used are metal, fibreglass, as timber is not suitable material.
There are only 2-3 firms in the local market who can manufacture for the oil and gas field as it involves metallic fabrication job. Mostly the products required for the local oil and gas sector are exported from Singapore, Europe and the US.
"We mostly do infrastructure projects for the oil and gas sector. We are looking at expanding our range for include caravans for the industry."
Around 45 per cent of Accent's production is exported. Its main markets are Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Africa - Congo, Algeria.
