The Dow Chemical Company will once again be showcasing its full range of innovations at the Sour Oil and Gas Advanced Technology (Sogat) exhibition and conference in Abu Dhabi from March 20 to 24, 2016.

During this year’s conference, Dow will be highlighting the advantages of hybrid solvents in acid gas removal and the company’s proven capabilities in this space.

Adriano Gentilucci, Commercial Director – IMEA for Dow Oil, Gas & Mining said: "Sogat continues to be a key platform for Dow Chemical to showcase our core gas treating expertise and full range of innovations to key industry stakeholders. As the region’s leading conference covering gas processing and treatment, Sogat has consistently provided opportunities for innovation and networking with global industry experts which has helped drive the progress of the industry."

This year, Dow will present a technical paper titled "Field Operational Data for Hybrid Solvent Treatment of Mercaptans in Unconventional Natural Gas", during Session B on March 22nd. The paper, co-authored with Spectra Energy Corporation, a key Dow customer, will be presented at Sogat by Badar Al Saadi, Senior Technical Service Engineer – Middle East and Africa for Dow Oil, Gas & Mining. The paper discusses how Dow Ucarsol Hybrid-703 presents commercially-proven solutions for simultaneous acid gas and trace sulfur removal. Process intensification, achieved through designed solvent formulations, presents opportunities for total cost reduction in comparison to alternative and incumbent treatment methods that address the acid gases and sulfur species separately. Experience-driven and rigorous simulation-based analysis can be used to assess the application of these solvents for specific treatment needs.

Dow will also showcase its Amine Managementsm Programme, a comprehensive gas sweetening service program tailored to each customer’s performance objectives, to help them optimise their total system costs. The service program uses Dow’s proprietary state-of-the-art simulation software, which offers customers best-in-class performance prediction technology.
