An Aramco facility ... Brunel targeting the giant for possible collaborations

Brunel Energy, the global oil and gas industry services firm, is on the verge of major Middle East expansion, as its business goes from strength to strength.

Their expansion strategy includes such locations in the Middle East as Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Iran. In fact considering the expected investments in the oil and gas projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Brunel Energy is keen to service Saudi Aramco, SABIC Group of Companies and other major international operators.
Iran is the other potential business base where all the major international companies operate, which is being considered by Brunel to set up operations. They are working towards strategic projects and alliances in these countries, where Brunel could substantially contribute through their current specialist resources.
Apart from HR consultancy and contracting services, Brunel Energy is also focusing on turn-key contracting services for operations, maintenance and project management through strategic technical alliances with specialised companies.
The regional head quarters of their Middle East operations are currently located in the city of Dubai. With its state-of-the-art infrastructure, excellent logistic facilities, open cultural attitudes and well defined business administrative policies, provide the required business base to operate as a regional head office.
Although Dubai does not hold significant oil reserves, many international oil companies prefer to base their regional management team in Dubai, owing to above business conveniences and consider this city as a Gateway to business with the other GCC countries.
The positive vision of the rulers of this emirate and the free business economy, has invited many entrepreneurs to invest their funds in this emirate. Also the expected growth in the infrastructure and the over all economy of Dubai, would further promote the above concept.
Considering the expected growth in the aviation industry in the Middle East region, Brunel Energy has tied-up an alliance with a specialist company to render services to the Aviation clients operating in this region.
Brunel Energy is in the process of setting up an Aviation consultancy division to provide aircraft management, contract hire of specialists and other specialised services to the new and existing aviation clients.
Brunel Energy started operations in the Middle East by acquiring the local company – Coordination International LLC in Dubai, with an ongoing service contract with the Conoco managed Dubai Petroleum Company in 1997. Over the years they increased their resources on the above contract and continued to expand their business with clients in the Northern Emirates and Abu Dhabi.
In 2000 they further extended their business by winning a major maintenance contract with Rasgas in the state of Qatar and continued to achieve success with other operating clients in that region. In the year 2002 Brunel Energy Qatar WLL was set up, which further strengthened their business process.
The firm is the wholly owned subsidiary of Brunel International, a company registered in the Netherlands (Amsterdam), incorporated in the year 1989. The name “Brunel” was inspired from the famous English engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, a central figure during the industrial revolution, who built a number of railways, bridges and ships. 
Apart from the above inspiration, the flower named Brunel (botanical name - Brunella Vulgaris ), protects its stamens so well that it could grow rapidly even under difficult surroundings.  Over the years the Brunel group has lived up to the philosophy behind their name, and has contributed to the growing needs various industries across the globe.

In UAE Brunel Energy is currently servicing SHELL Iran Offshore Ltd (SIOL) by providing a team of Operations and Commissioning specialists for SIOL’s ongoing Soroosh / Nowrooz project with their client NIOC of Iran.
During the year 2002 / 2003 Brunel was involved with their clients Single Buoy Mooring Inc (SBM) for the conversion of marine vessel into a FPSO. SBM was the first company in Dubai along with Dubai Dry Docks, instrumental in successfully converting FPSOs ( Xicomba and Mystras) for their clients. Under this contract with SBM, Brunel Energy supported their client with the team of Planning, Scheduling, Inspection, Document Control, Welding, E&I and various other project specialists.
In the state of Qatar, since August 2000 Brunel Energy has been successfully providing maintenance services to Rasgas (Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Co. Ltd.) for their on shore LNG facilities comprising of process analysers / fire and gas systems.
Their client representative Mr.Peter Herd – Rasgas / Instrumentation Specialist proudly states “Brunel currently maintains the site installation of analytical and fiscal metering systems.
Both parties have enjoyed an equitable relationship over the last four years. Brunel personnel have been diligent and safety conscious, and have never been party to a lost time incident. Considering Rasgas’s expansion commitments, Brunel have been very accommodating and proficient to fit these varying conditions” 
They carried on their knowledge and expertise on this contract, by signing a contract with Qatar Gas (Qatargas Liquefied Gas Co.Ltd.) in the year 2001 for maintenance of Fire and Gas Systems / Fire Detection systems of their facilities in Ras Laffan.
Brunel Energy was also involved in resourcing and contract administration of more than one hundred mechanical specialists for their client Deutche Babcock for their contract with QAPCO, during the GSD – 2000  major shutdown works of their  LDFE / Poly Ethylene plants.
Brunel’s other client list includes QP, QAFCO, TOTAL, DOLPHIN, MAERSK, and other operating clients in the Middle East.
Apart from contracting services, Brunel Energy was involved in a major placement assignment for Q-CHEM ( Qatar Chemical  Co Ltd ) - a Chevron Phillips joint venture with the State owned Qatar Petroleum Company ( QP ) for setting up a State of the art Petrochemical Plant in Umsaeed. 
Brunel was given the task to identify expertise through their global resources. The assignment involved extensive criteria matching, class room tests, process simulation tests, personal interviews etc. Brunel successfully placed more than seventy personnel catering to the utmost satisfaction of their clients.
Wesley Atkinson, head of recruitment for Q Chem says “Considering the world-wide constraints in traveling, due to occurrences such as Sars, September 11 and the Iraq situation,  the Dubai option turned out to be a successful venture for Q Chem and they were extremely pleased with the way in which Brunel Energy handled the entire assignment over a twelve month period.”
