Turbine Services and Solutions Group (TS&S), a leading solutions, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider for gas turbines and driven equipment wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company, has secured its first order for gas turbine engine exchange with Pt. Multi Fabrindo Gemilang (Multifab), Indonesia’s leading engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and construction services provider, and member of the Medco group.
The announcement marks TS&S’ first project in Indonesia, and comes following the 2017 edition of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) last week.
A delegation from SKK Migas, the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities of Indonesia, also toured the TS&S stand at the Middle East’s largest oil and gas event, and explored TS&S’ facilities in Abu Dhabi.
According to the agreement, TS&S will supply a zero-hour overhaul engine to Multifab, while simultaneously receiving a similar time-expired gas turbine.
Engine exchange deals are common in the oil and gas industry, providing several advantages within the sector. These contracts allow recipients to obtain capital-intensive materials at a fixed cost within short periods, and reduce the turnaround time and use of spare engines.
Commenting on the occasion, Mansoor Janahi, Deputy CEO of TS&S, said: 'This deal represents a major milestone in our company’s efforts to expand its global footprint, and extends our presence in new and strategic markets such as South East Asia. Having established partnerships with international conglomerates such as Rolls-Royce, General Electric (GE) and Siemens, our relationship with Multifab signifies TS&S’ foray into another region with exciting growth prospects.'
This first step initiates the company’s path forward in delivering efficiencies and optimised solutions for Indonesia and its oil and gas production sharing operators throughout Indonesia.
