

Japan has emerged as one of the largest markets for Kuwaiti oil, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) managing director for International Marketing Jamal Al Nouri said.
As the world's third biggest oil consumer after the US and China, Japan imports eight per cent of its crude demand from Kuwait, the official said.
He expressed hoped that relations with Japanese companies will develop into full partnership by maintaining current KPC quotas in the Japanese oil market and launching joint projects that consolidate crude oil marketing.
A delegation, headed by Jamal Al Nouri, concluded an official visit to Japan recently.
He said the tour was part of regular visits by KPC International Marketing Department to its major clients aimed at boosting relations and exploring new investment opportunities.
He stressed that KPC seeks to enhance partnership in Asia in general and Japan in particular.
Al Nouri said the corporation is interested in long term, secure and stable outlet for its hydrocarbon, not only in evergreen term supply contracts but also opportunities for joint venture which could be beneficial for both partners.
During its visit, the delegation held meetings with its major clients including oil, petrochemical and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) firms and trading houses to boost relations and explore new investment opportunities for increasing sales and establishing joint ventures.
On the sidelines of the visit, KPC Tokyo office hosted a reception in honour of KPC's key clients and customers.
Kuwait's Ambassador to Japan Sheikh Azzam Al Sabah and top officials attended.
