Future Pipe Industries (FPI) LLC - Dammam, a member of Future Pipe Group, is an acknowledged leader in the manufacturer of high performance, anti-corrosive fiberglass pipe systems and has emerged as the leading provider of composite thermosetting pipe systems and technologies in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North America and Asia.
The Future Pipe Industries (FPI) LLC - Dammam plant was formally established in mid-2003 and is a wholly privately owned company reflecting significant investment by its shareholders.
According to its records, FPI will supply more than SR350 million ($93.2 million) worth of pipe systems in 2007 such is the demand for high quality high performance fiberglass pipes.
FPI has achieved prominence and its high reputation by its rigorous adherence to the highest levels of quality in manufacturing, as well as by its commitment to serving client needs with the services necessary to ensure the success of their pipe systems.
Through its global network of manufacturing plants, sales offices, engineering consultants, and representative offices, FPI provides engineering, installation, logistics support and commissioning services as part of its single point responsibility.
FPI has formed technical know-how sharing alliances with the world’s leading fiberglass composite pipe research institutes.
In addition, FPI backed by its engineering consultants, has developed a new concept of technical innovation in pipe system design and engineering, essential to fulfill client requirements and project developments.
The company provides the capability of handling projects on a turnkey basis. Under this programme, FPI assumes complete responsibility for every aspect involved from the design, to the production, installation, testing and commissioning of the pipe system.
For its key accounts, FPI provides assigned end-user support at the technical level together with a reference point for the various production and delivery stages of implementing the pipe system.
FPI and through its experience has a reputation for reliability and integrity harnessing the Dammam plant with its design, engineering and technological support on an international basis.
FPI is on schedule to complete the delivery of a total of 12 km of pipe systems and accessories for the massive sea-water cooling lines required by the Jubail II expansion.
These pipes are measuring four meters in diameter are a first for the Kingdom, reflecting the advanced technical capabilities of the FPI plant and proven technological expertise and capabilities in producing and delivering the individual pipes that are 12 metres in length.
Applications
Major markets for the use of Fiberglass Reinforced Pipe Systems (also known as composites, GRP or RTRP) include power generation, desalination, oil and gas and the municipal sectors.
As an inert material, fiberglass composite pipes have excellent anti-corrosive properties. Seawater, chemicals, oil and atmospheric environments produce severe corrosion within a short period of time whilst fiberglass pipes, with a design life of 50 years, have proved to be the material of choice when facing such conditions.
FPI has been involved with major power and desalination plants throughout the region. Tank systems (vertical and horizontal) are also offered as a corrosion free alternative to outdated metal technologies, as evidenced in their use of filling stations throughout the UAE and other Gulf states.
Fiberglass Reinforced Composites (GRP/GRE/GRV) offer excellent performance in terms of corrosion resistance and resistance to loads (buried installations) with high pressure (up to 250 bar) and temperature (up to 93o C) applications. GRP Pipes have been extensively used across the GCC for power generation and desalination (sea water intake/outfall, brine water, condensate, potable water networks and municipal applications (sewer lines, irrigation).
Epoxy based fiberglass reinforced composites (GRE) offer superior performance in relation to temperature and pressure.
Due to the specialized services and rigorous standards applied to the use of GRE, there are relatively few companies globally qualified to produce such systems.
GRE is extensively used in the oil and gas industry for a range of applications, ranging from potable and sea water systems to steam condensate, injection lines, brackish water lines, fire systems, crude oil and gas injection lines.
Product development
A long term testing facilities is in operation at the manufacturing facilities for qualifying a full range of new products for higher pressure, higher temperature, and fire resistance applications.
Services
FPI, with its emphasis on comprehensive engineering and design studies provides a range of services to fully satisfy customer requirements offers through its strategically partner, Dynaflow International Incorporated.
Flexibility, surge and support arrangement analysis are offered as critical components in designing a complete pipe system. Installation and erection services are also offered as part of single point responsibility.
FPI is dedicated to quality for its clients proposing pipe systems complying with the various existing international standards with proven performance certified by independent international authorities and organisations.
