Jaz Tank Coating is healthy and safe

Fire accidents have a big effect on humanity and there are many ways to prevent or stop it spreading.

Fire has varied effects over structural elements like timber, steel and concrete, says Al Jazeera Paints.
For example, timber starts burning from the outer circumference in circles before going into the centre core.
However, experience has shown that timber bearing structures on fire take more time before collapse than steel structures. Wood when it burns forms big flame and smoke, while steel has a high thermal conductivity and is highly vulnerable to high temperatures under the influence of fire.
At high temperatures around 450-600°C, steel profiles distort and become weaker, which could lead to collapse. With rising temperature and burning time up to 30 minutes, the steel structure will fail completely.
As for concrete elements, they do not burn under fire but the physical properties are highly affected, says the company.
The world has witnessed many horrible incidents related to fire. Fire retardant paints can be contributed a lot to minimising the burning of substrates due to fire.
Fire retardant coatings are becoming essential and even compulsory in different parts of the world specially in public buildings such as airports, theatres, hospitals, sports arenas, schools, production plants, petrochemical, petroleum and gas plants.
For this reason, Al Jazeera Paints took the step to launch the Al Jazeera Fire Retardant in the market to prevent fires.
Al Jazeera Fire Retardant is a water-based intumescent coating especially formulated and developed according to the new version of international standards and requirements for modern fire prevention.
The product is suitable for protection of wooden, steel and concrete structures. It provides more than one hour fire protection depending on the flame strength and film thickness of the coating.
It is free from halogens and is environmental friendly. The working mechanism of this product is that when a layer of Al Jazeera Fire Retardant is exposed to heat (fire) the binder will start melting and further chemical reactions take place which also release gases.
The film will swell and expand up to (50-100) times to its original size to build a char barrier that insulates the underlying substrate.
Aljazeera Fire Retardant possesses other properties such as adhesion, colour retention and weather resistance.
