Background
The project calls for the construction of 32-inch diameter Gas Loop Line that starts at OGC’s Gas Compressor Station in Nimr. Extending 85 kilometres, the pipeline will tie in with an existing pipeline at Marmul that runs all the way south to Salalah in Dhofar Governorate. The pipeline will ramp up supplies to Dhofar where a combination of infrastructure and industrial investment is fuelling demand growth in the governorate. Among the major customers that will benefit from the gas supplies are Salalah 2IPP and Salalah Ammonia Plant (Luban).
Project status
January 2017:Construction of the pipeline is at its latest stages. The pipeline will be ready for commissioning by April 2017.

The scope of work includes the construction and installation of:

• Valve stations
• Pig launcher and receiver
• Pig indicator, instruments, fittings, flanges, barred tees, isolation joint
• Associated utilities
