Background
OGC is looking at a project designed to extract liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the Salalah gas pipeline network in southern Oman. The project will see the construction of LPG Extraction plan with the capacity of 7 to 10 MMSCMD. In the first stage of LPG extraction, OGC will produce 700-800 tons of butane, propane and condensate per day from the gas system.
Project Status
May 2019: Salalah Liquefied Petroleum Gas (SLPG) has signed 2 agreements with Dhofar Power Company for the supply of electricity.
Project Scope
The scope of the project includes:
• Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unit with a capacity to produce 327,000 tonnes per annum
• Tie-ins to existing pipeline infrastructure
• LPG and condensate storage (cryogenic, double-walled steel tanks are 40 metres tall, with a 43 metre diameter, for butane and propane storage) to be built on a 9-hectare site at the adjoining Port of Salalah)
• Jetty facilities at the Port of Salalah (ship loading facilities)
