Fibreglass pipes from FPI ... quality products

Future Pipe Industries (FPI) – Dammam, a member of the global Future Pipe Group, is an acknowledged leader in the manufacturing of high-performance, anti-corrosive fibreglass pipe systems.

FPI has emerged as a leading provider of composite thermosetting pipe systems and technologies in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North America and Asia.
Its plant in Dammam was formally established in mid-2003.
FPI is a wholly privately owned company, reflecting significant investments by its shareholders. The group anticipates sales in excess of SR1.2 billion ($319 million) for 2007 in the GCC alone. A substantial portion of the revenues will come from Saudi Arabia where the demand for high-quality, high-performance fibreglass pipes is on the rise.
The group has completed two expansions of its facility in Dammam to cater for the ever expanding need for projects in Saudi Arabia by adding additional capacity to existing lines for its world-renowned Fiberstrong glass reinforced plastic pipe (GRP) system as well as its Wavistrong glass reinforced epoxy pipe (GRE) system.
In addition, FPI Dammam will also expand its product lines by manufacturing its time-proven high-pressure GRE pipes in Dammam through a technology transfer agreement with its US Houston factory.
Plans have been finalised for an identical new facility in Yanbu to cater to the mammoth projects expected, and to enhance its service and commitment to clients by producing the entire product range within the proximity of these projects.

Prominence
FPI has achieved prominence by providing quality products and continuously improving its proprietary technology for pipe manufacturing through research and development.
Its newly established testing facility has been certified to conduct short-term and long-term tests in accordance with API, ASTM and ISO standards at high pressures and temperatures.
These investments in research and development (R&D) are needed to cater for our client’s requirements to continuously expand the usage of FPI brands in more critical applications such as high pressure and temperature conditions.
Through FPI’s global network of manufacturing plants, sales offices, engineering offices, and representatives, it can provide worldwide logistical support to its customers.
FPI has formed a strategic alliance with Dynaflow International, a leading composite pipe research and engineering group, to support its philosophy of “single point responsibility” in order to fulfill client requirements.
Under this philosophy, FPI assumes complete responsibility for every aspect of the project, by carrying out the design, pipe manufacturing, installation supervision, testing and commissioning supervision of the pipe system.

Reputation
Through its experience, FPI has a reputation for reliability and integrity, harnessing the Dammam plant with its design, engineering and technological support on an international basis.
FPI  has been actively involved in the supply of GRE pipes on most of Saudi Aramco’s major projects currently being implemented –  such as the Khurais central processing unit, the Qurayyah seawater treatment plant, and the Shoiba central processing unit – in order to increase Aramco’s production capacity.
The group has worked closely with Aramco to introduce GRE pipes for new applications. It is currently working with Aramco engineers to introduce high-pressure GRE pipes in highly corrosive water injection and oil production flowlines.
This reflects the advanced technical capabilities of the FPI Dammam manufacturing facility, which is utilising cutting-edge technology and knowledge to design and manufacture GRE pipes.

Applications
Elaborating on the company’s products, a spokesman says: “Fiberstrong GRP and GRV pipes offer excellent performance in terms of corrosion resistance and resistance to loads (buried installations). GRP pipes have been extensively used across the GCC for power generation and desalination (sea water intake/outfall, brine water, condensate, potable water networks and municipal applications (sewer lines, irrigation).
He continues: “Wavistrong epoxy-based fibreglass reinforced (GRE) composite systems offer superior performance in relation to temperature and pressure.
“Due to the rigorous standards applied to the manufacturing of GRE, there are relatively few companies globally qualified to produce such systems.
“GRE pipes are extensively used in the oil and gas industry for a range of applications, from potable and seawater systems to steam condensate, injection lines, brackish water lines, fire systems, crude oil and water injection lines.”
FPI, a reliable pipe supplier, has been involved with most of the major power and desalination plants throughout the region. The company also offers tank systems (vertical and horizontal) as a corrosion-free alternative to metal tanks.
FPI has worked closely with its clients in most of the huge municipal and industrial projects in the region and its commitment to its clients and product quality have made it the supplier of choice over the last 15 years.
