Enoc CEO is GEM chairman

DUBAI: Dubai-based Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) has appointed its chief executive officer (CEO) Saif Humaid Al Falasi as the new chairman of Gulf Energy Maritime (GEM), a leading independent commercial product and chemical tanker operator. Al Falasi will take over GEM’s top post in its board of directors from Khalifa Abdulla Al Romaithi, IPIC’s director of Downstream & Diversified Investment, who will remain as a board member of the company, it said.

 

IOEC set for drilling ops

TEHRAN: Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) will commence offshore drilling operations at Phase 14 of t South Pars Gas Field by mid-July, said Iran Daily, quoting a top official. Physical activities at the phase will begin once the first drilling rig is installed within a month, Farzad Ghazali, operator of the phase, was quoted in the report, which cited Shana.

 

Iran names new NIOC chief

TEHRAN: Iran has appointed Ali Kardor to lead the state oil company, promoting him from the role of finance director as the country boosts crude output and seeks more than $100 billion in investment to revive its energy industry. Kardor replaces Roknoddin Javadi as managing director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), a Bloomberg report cititng Iran’s oil ministry’s Shana news service said. Kardor will also have a seat on the company’s board, Shana reported, without giving a reason for the management change.

 

Iraq plans to clear arrears

BAGHDAD: Iraq plans to settle all arrears owed to foreign oil companies by the end of the year, as provided by an agreement with the International Monetary Fund, said Mudher Salih, an advisor on financial policy to Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi. The decision is among measures approved last week by the government to secure $5.4 billion in loans over three years from the IMF, Salih said in an interview in Baghdad.

 

Joint oilfields ‘top priority’

TEHRAN: Development of joint oil and gas fields is a top priority of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Ali Kardour, the company’s newly appointed managing director was quoted as saying by Iran Daily. Completion of South Pars development projects and West Karoun oilfields are also among NIOC’s priority to achieve the targeted goal of increasing oil and gas production, he added.

 

Funding ready for pipeline

MUSCAT: A total of seven companies are ready to finance construction of a gas pipeline to Oman from Iran, Alireza Kameli, managing director of National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) was quoted as saying by Oman Observer.

"Seven foreign companies are keen on partnership with Iran on construction of Iran gas pipeline to Oman," Kameli was cited by Irna as saying.
