Under their newly-appointed General Manager, Frank R Lefeber, Arabian Pipeline and Services Company Ltd (Anabeeb), is driving ahead its strategic growth targets through a series of initiatives.

“To continue to succeed as a leading contractor in this very competitive market, we at Anabeeb are focusing on our high level of operational quality and assured safety”, says Lefeber. “At the same time, we look for new technologies and developments that ultimately also benefit our Clients.”
“Anabeeb constantly reviews its operational activities and is integrating ‘best practice’ techniques wherever practical, with the common goal of reducing downtime and thereby reducing costs to our clients.”
Whilst focusing very much on core activities, Anabeeb takes the demands of industry very seriously and has looked at how to improve and strengthen its business aspects to provide clear benefits to clients.
In Al-Jubail, a major Total Complex Turnaround TCTA 2004 shutdown was recently successfully completed by Anabeeb for Ibn Zahr, a SABIC affiliate plant. This included inspection and cleaning of heat exchangers, vessels, columns, filters, activities for MTBE plant and storage tanks.  Additionally, packages for the catalyst loading of various vessels, including catofin reactors and segregation of catalyst of catofin reactors were carried-out.
The relationship between SABIC and Anabeeb continues to strengthen, with a number of confirmed orders in place and - very recently - the awarding of a call-off contract from SABIC for bolt tensioning services over the next 3 years.
A long term contract with Saudi Aramco for Test & Inspection Services for the Rabigh Refinery in the Kingdom’s Western Region has been secured by Anabeeb, whilst Saudi Aramco also regularly calls on Anabeeb for Bundle Pulling at its Haradh, Abqaiq, Uthmaniyah and Shedgum plants.
Anabeeb is also very active in the other GCC countries, including Oman, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain and the State of Qatar, where the very recently awarded 2 year call-off contract from Qatar Petroleum will require Anabeeb’s industrial cleaning, spent catalyst and process chemicals transportation services.
In India, Anabeeb has exceeded client expectations with the completion of initial catalyst loading of a MEG1 EO reactor at the Hazira Complex for Reliance Industries Ltd, whilst in the State of Oman, Anabeeb has been awarded the catalyst loading contract - one of Anabeeb’s prime activities - from ORC.
The complete range of services available to Anabeeb’s customers include catalyst handling and packed tower services; working in inert and toxic atmospheres; ammonia convertor turnarounds; plant turnarounds and shutdowns; bundle pulling; high capacity wet or dry vacuum cleaning; high pressure and ultra high pressure cleaning; chemical cleaning; decoking descaling technology DDT(r); CTP(r) Neutramex online and offline cleaning; tank cleaning; sludge treatment; hydrocarbon recovery from oily sludge; onstream leak repairs; in-situ machining; bolt tensioning and torquing; hot and cold tapping; flare and chimney services; mechanical works and services and mechanical construction.
These services are available to the oil, gas and petrochemical industries throughout the GCC and further afield. Anabeeb’s Saudi Arabian facilities are further supported in Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, with additional projects executed Egypt, India and in the Netherlands.
The specialist Pipeline Division within the company offers a range of thrustboring services, including trenchless technology. As one of the most experienced quality assured thrustboring and pipeline specialists, Anabeeb has all of the expertise and the most up-to-date equipment for precision completion of oil, gas, water, power, communications and sewage projects.
Anabeeb’s thrustboring services include augerboring; pipejacking; horizontal center-bite boring; micro tunneling; horizontal directional drilling.
These include - but are not limited to - well point dewatering, grouting, sheet piling, welding, bentonite lubrication and cable duct insertion.
Another significant achievement within the company has been the further development of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) activities.
Anabeeb has become known for its non-intrusive project handling, avoiding interruption to traffic flow and greatly improving client value.
The company is in the forefront of providing trenchless technology and over the past few months has secured a number of contracts within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia using HDD methods.
Anabeeb is in the forefront of HDD projects, thanks to the arrival of its latest American Auger DD625 (285 Ton) Drilling Machine, recently enabling the company to complete 500 Meter and 1000 Meter long crossings of 16' pipeline for Saudi Aramco plants at the Juyamah and Shaybah oil fields. Taking only 3 and 6 weeks respectively, the projects were a real milestone in Anabeeb’s pipeline division history in HDD drilling long crossings in such short times.
The speed in which Anabeeb executed these jobs has firmly impressed customers and end-users, offering them an alternative to the more traditional thrustboring methods.
“Through a positive approach to customer needs and our focus on excellence across our range of skills - Industrial Services, Thrustboring Services and Know-how - Anabeeb seeks to be the leading partner, serving process industries across the GCC region and further afield,” an Anabeeb spokesman added.
