The company established its Abu Dhabi branch in the 1980s. Since then, Bureau Veritas Abu Dhabi, together with the other offices of the Middle East region, has provided key oil and gas players with third-party services ranging from site inspections to ISO standards certification, safety audits to risk assessment and training.
In 2000, following a strategic corporate decision, a Technical Centre was set up within the regional office of Abu Dhabi.
This set up rapidly became a major asset to Bureau Veritas Middle East organisation, enhancing services delivery to clients within the full Asia zone in technical and consultancy expertise and to promote global solution services covering all phases of an oil and gas development project from concept to decommissioning/dismantling of an asset.
Since its creation, the Technical Centre has brought an undisputed added value to Bureau Veritas' clients in Asia and Middle East Zone by its proximity, quality of performance and reactiveness in delivering cost-effective services to clients
The Technical Centre in Abu Dhabi has become a reputed expertise centre of Bureau Veritas Group gathering a pool of specialist engineers addressing enquiries within the Middle East and Asia Zone. It provides guidance, support and expertise services to Bureau Veritas Clients through the local Bureau Veritas offices.
Thanks to its proximity to Clients within a key Oil and Gas region, the Technical Centre in Abu Dhabi is in a position to work together with operators towards cost-effective solutions.
The Technical Centre  has the necessary resources and software to address locally most of inquiries from the oil and gas sector. It is providing numerous services from design appraisal, reassessment of existing structures/equipment, audits, risk assessments, HAZOP, HAZID, risk-based inspection consultancy and software or training.
Among major references cumulated in the last four years, the Technical Centre was involved in the certification of the FEED of what should be the highest ever CAPEX project in Gulf area and succeeded in key EPIC projects within the Middle East region and the Caspian Sea.
It also participated to risk assessment studies of offshore platforms, carried out flare radiation studies, QRA, site surveys and audits, and conducted HAZOP and HAZID sessions.
