THE OILFIELD Supply Centre (OSC) in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ) serves oilfield operators throughout the Gulf, the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, Africa and Asia Pacific.

Since its move to Jebel Ali in 1994, the OSC has established itself as an integral part of the Zone, growing to provide long term commitment and support to major companies which have set up regional bases in the facility.

OSC's facilities comprise more than three million sq ft for manufacturing, distribution, tool service, machine shops, workshops and offices.

The OSC has diversified its services to include value-added manufacturing services such as heat transfer.

Indeed, the 440,000 sq m Heat Transfer Division (HTD) offers a comprehensive heat exchange service to all sections of industry from marine, offshore and industrial through power generation, desalination and petrochemicals.

An ultra-modern machine shop at the OSC consists of a 20,000 sq ft air conditioned machine shop, together with approximately 10,000 sq ft of semi-covered area for fabrication and storage.

Services at the machine shop include heavy industrial hard chrome plating, dynamic balancing, plasmacoating, vacuum and top hat furnace, turbine component refurbishing, machining and fabrication.

The hard chrome plating facility was the first in the Gulf when it opened and can accommodate parts up to almost 4.3m in length and up to 76cm in diameter. The process includes pre-grinding, chemical/mechanical cleaning, hard chrome plating and finished grinding.

Oilfield and other machining or fabrication jobs can be carried out at the shop with an efficient turnaround time.

A dedicated organisation at the OSC also looks after all aspects of preventive maintenance, remedial maintenance, warranty issues and maintenance contracts, using the latest equipment to ensure that the facilities remain operational on every day of the year.

Using expertise developed since its formation and in conjunction with its fleet of transportation equipment, the OSC provides an extensive range of services including clearing and forwarding, warehousing and distribution, workshop services and material handling, and provision of personnel services.

OSC has a department dedicated to clearing and forwarding, offering a 24-hour service to the OSC and its associated companies. Regardless of whether the point of entry is Dubai airport, Port Rashid, Jebel Ali or any other UAE port, this department provides a comprehensive and efficient service, maintaining high standards of safety in material handling.
