Zeeco Middle East recently acquired an additional 5,000 sq m of industrial land to implement the third expansion of its fabrication and storage facilities and an additional two-story administrative and engineering office building in preparation for an expanding workforce of Saudi nationals.
The new expansion builds on Zeeco’s existing operations and footprint in Dammam, bringing its total industrial area to 17,500 sq m and continuing its commitment to Aramco’s In Kingdom Total Value Add (iktva) programme.
According to Mohammed Abugharbieh, Zeeco’s Country Manager in Saudi Arabia: "Built within our site expansion, the additional fabrication facility will grow our engineering and manufacturing capabilities, enhancing our annual production above 250,000 man-hours and increasing our output of advanced combustion and environmental equipment. Here, we will fabricate burners, flares, flare gas recovery systems, vapor recovery systems, thermal oxidisers, reaction furnaces, and other equipment while increasing the local content and hiring more Saudis."
Zeeco currently employs over 145 people at its Saudi facility and with the expansion, it will be in a position to providing more quality jobs for a growing Saudi workforce.
Darton Zink, Zeeco’s President and CEO, said: "We are proud to partner with Saudi Aramco as we work to grow our in-kingdom business, footprint, and value. This expansion will bring business to our in-kingdom vendors who supply equipment and resources to Zeeco and will be crucial to helping us increase our employment and training of Saudi nationals."
