PPOWER generation in the Middle East is booming as never before thanks to the deployment of latest technology in harnessing the abundant natural gas resources in the region.

The generating plants worth billions of dirhams are however dependent upon several small components that need regular servicing. The capability of such servicing in the Middle East has taken a giant leap with the setting up of the Sun Power-Gen Service Centre in Dubai.
 Sun Power-Gen, Systems and Services (SPG),  a subsidiary company of Super Technical, is a specialist firm set up to market world renowned products and provides a full service backup to ensure the best operational efficiency at all times. Sun Power -Gen are the exclusive distributors of Parker Aerospace, Moog, Goyen and Mecair products.
“We aim at excellence in precision - ensuring that nozzles and valves, products of high engineering, perform to their designed capability,” Jitendra Odhrani sales engineer of the company said.
Towards this end SPG are proud to announce the setting  of the Middle East’s first facility for servicing gas turbine fuel nozzles that are designed and manufactured by Parker Gas Turbine Fuel system Division, USA. Approved by Parker, this centre is the only one of its kind servicing power plants in the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and the CIS.
The ISO 9001 company adheres to stiff deadlines in its servicing contracts. As attested by top companies in power generation and oilfield operations SPG is playing a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted power generation in the region.
The state-of-the-art service centre is fully capable of cleaning, checking, testing and overhauling of all types of gas turbine fuel nozzles both for aero-derivatives and industrial engines. It includes a semi-automatic ultra sonic cleaning system, computer controlled test stand that can simulate the actual flow taking place within a gas turbine. The flow test can be done for liquid and gas only as well as dual fuel configuration nozzles.
The facility is capable of testing all GE LM fuel nozzles for LM 1600, LM 2500, LM 5000 and LM 6000 respectively. All the nozzles serviced by SPG have exactly the same ‘zero-time’ warranty as those serviced by Parker. In addition SPG offers value added services like extensive field support, shortened product lead times, simplified ordering, special prices, upgrades and rotable exchanges for customers with long term service agreements.
SPG  also carry out cleaning, testing and calibration  on fuel nozzles of other reputed aero derivatives gas turbines like Rolls & Royce, Avons & RB211s, Alison 501K, 570s, Alstom TA 1750 and TA 1850, Pratt & Whitney aero derivative turbines as per OEM specifications.
Moog servo valves
SPG also provides new units and after market support for Moog products including Moog intrinsically safe servo valves for GE, Alstom, Siemens Gas turbines and for hydro electric power plants. The also have Moog hydraulic manifold blocks and Moog fuel systems and skids for gas turbines.
SPG will be launching an exclusive service centre for Moog valves  to reduce turnaround time and provide original spares with a one year warranty.
Among the new products SPG is introducing is Parker”s Macrospray (water nozzle) for air intake cooling in gas turbines. This new technology with macro-lamination gives high atomisation.
 Also new is Goyen’s water quality monitors/ sensors which are used in desalination plants. These sensors are used to check the PH level and conductivity.
 SPG will be showing their range of products and services at the Adipec Oil and gas exhibition in Abu Dhabi being held from October 10-13.
