Gulf Automation Services and Oilfield Supplies, (Gasos), Weir Engineering Services and Gulf Industrial Services Company are the three spearheads of the Abu Dhabi-based Bin Hamoodah group of companies, covering all major sectors of the UAE economy from the vital oil and gas to the engineering and industrial sector, a spokesman of the groups says.
Ever since the advent of the federation of UAE in 1971, the country has gone through phenomenal structural changes and the pace of development has been immense.
Keeping in view the importance of the petroleum sector in the country’s overall development and the emerging need for technology inputs, Bin Hamoodah established Gulf Automation Services and Oilfield Supplies (Gasos), a 100 per cent local company in 1972.
The objective behind the new venture was to provide requisite technology and services to the oil and gas sector.
Gasos has since provided many pioneering services to the oil and gas industry, firstly, through sponsorship of world-renowned oil service companies and secondly by marketing oilfield related equipment and services.
The company has also introduced fire-fighting, safety and protection related equipment and services in the local oil and gas sector.
“Being the pioneer local company, Gasos through sheer hard work has firmly established its position and now the name Gasos has become synonymous with both current and future projects in the UAE,” spokesman adds.
“This position of eminence and reputation has been achieved mainly due to the vision of the Bin Hamoodah family as well as their firm commitment to maintain the qualities of integrity, reliability and service for which the family name has long been renowned,” the spokesman continues.
Through its technical and sales and marketing divisions, the company has recorded major achievements.
Its technical division acts in the capacity of agents of foreign principals to locally based customers. The majority of sales and services of this division are for the upstream oil and gas sector.
The sales and marketing division of the company is offering a wide range of products and services to the oil and gas sector. Moreover, Gasos orders specialised equipment according to the exact specifications of the customers as well.
