Sabic has launched the Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud International Prize for Scientific Research.

Sabic Chairman, and Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan Al-Saud, said, “I welcome the opportunity for scholars and researchers from around the world to participate in this prize.
“The prize will hopefully set out to strengthen international research and technological development, in areas which affect many aspects of peoples’ lives and relevant production sectors,” the Sabic chairman said.
“Technological development is the passport to a successful future for us all,” he added.
The Prize’s secretary general, and Sabic vice president for Research and Technology, Ibrahim Al-Shuweir, said, “The prize will be awarded every two years and is divided into three categories — Environmental Protection and the Combat of Desertification; Petrochemical, Metal and Plastic Industries; and Water and Agriculture Technologies.
Winners from each category will be honoured at a ceremony presided over by Crown Prince Abdullah.
Each winner will receive SR600,000 Saudi Riyals ($160,000), said Sabic.
