Dell, the globally renowned American giant for computer equipment and servers, recently announced that Al Alamiah Group has been awarded the title Platinum Partner.
This announcement came as Al Alamiah Group received two more international awards from Dell for the Group’s performance during 2003.
“We consider receiving this prestigious title, and the two key awards, to be the fruits of the joint efforts between our group and Dell in serving the markets of the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. These awards also represent Al Alamiah Group’s continued success and re-enforces our exceptional role in providing comprehensive solutions, IT products and services throughout Saudi Arabia and the region,” explained Fahad Al Sharekh, Business Development Director, Al Alamiah Group. Al Alamiah Group is the authorised agent for Dell products in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Hamed Al Sharekh, Deputy Chairman, Al Alamiah Group and CEO, Al Alamiah Electronics, KSA, received the awards which were presented by Pim Dale, Managing Director, Dell, during the annual conference for Dell distributors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The conference was held in the Spanish capital, Madrid, from March 31 to April 2, 2004.
“Al Alamiah is our Platinum Partner, as the Group has gained the trust of the IT market in the region,” commented Dale. He added, “Al Alamiah is an authorised Dell service provider, and the Group has been instrumental in placing our innovative technologies and our exceptional products within the reach of our major clients in the region.”
“This recognition proves that Al Alamiah has continued to successfully and proficiently move towards developing our Group's relationship with international giants,” stated Hamed Al Sharekh. He added, “This will further strengthen our Group’s position in the field of IT services.”
Al Alamiah was awarded Dell’s Desktop Partner of the Year, for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, for its exceptional performance for 2003 in the Saudi Arabian markets. Al Alamiah was also announced Key Server Cluster Account Winner, as the Group won the largest contract for this region for the sale/distribution of these servers.
Fahad Al Sharekh explained that these awards are the result of Al Alamiah's accumulated experiences, and the Group’s concentrated investments in building qualified technical personnel, as well as its outstanding service centres. All of this qualified Al Alamiah to earn this recognition.
“Al Alamiah is effectively the major service and product provider for its clients within the region. The Group attracts major clients, as well as major service providers,” Al Sharekh added.
Al Alamiah distributed and serviced over 42 thousand computers in the offices of Optiplex in KSA during 2003. The Group also provided solutions for over 1200 network servers, PowerEdge from Dell's servers, storage systems and solutions.
This outstanding performance places Al Alamiah in a superior position which enabled it to snatch the title of Dell's Desktop Partner from amongst 110 competing distributors all over Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
This is the first time in the Middle East that this prestigious title and these key distinctions are awarded to the same company, at the same time.
This is an exceptional accomplishment for Al Alamiah Group on the European, Middle Eastern and African front. This unique situation is the result of Al Alamiah’s excellent capabilities, and the strategic client base which Al Alamiah supplies with top-notch solutions.
Al Alamiah's qualification and competence have made it the only Group, within Saudi Arabia in particular, and the Arabian Gulf in general, that can fulfill the various demands and requirements of its clientele whilst adhering to the international specifications and standards associated with Dell. This means that Al Alamiah has the capability to provide the same standards and the same quality provided by Dell in the United States and Europe.
It is also noteworthy that Al Alamiah Group was awarded Dell's DASP Certificate last year, thus making it the only Dell Authorized Service Provider in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Founded in 1970 in Kuwait, the Al Alamiah Group started its business mainly targeting the electronic market. However, it wasn't long before Al Alamiah's business increased, diversified and expanded geographically.
Today the Al Alamiah Group, with its Head Office located in the Kuwaiti capital, encompasses nine companies which are highly specialised in the IT, communications and digital sectors.
The three companies operating in Saudi Arabia form the “Al Alamiah Group Ð KSA”, which is based in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and which in turn is part of the mother group. The Al Alamiah Group activities extend to most of the Arab nations. The Group has agents and distributors in most Arab countries as well as other countries around the world.
Al Alamiah, or one of its subsidiaries, has executed projects within most regions of the Arab World. The Group employs thousands of experts, engineers, specialists and qualified personnel within its subsidiaries, and has branches in many cities in the following countries: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
The Group will soon be launching branches in Europe and the United States of America. Al Alamiah Group believes its part in the Information Technology (and related services) business is a major investment in the Arab World and beyond.
The Group has formed alliances with international giants, benefiting from their experience and bringing the latest in global IT within reach of the Arab World, thus becoming the bridge between Arab consumers and modern computer technology.
