SBG-PCM is presently engaged in the construction of Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination plant for Royal Commission Yanbu. The scope included Engineering, Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, Construction, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Training and providing operation and maintenance services necessary for the establishment and satisfactory operation of one 2100 M3/h Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination plant.
This plant consists of Six (6) 350 M3/h RO trains including pre-treatment equipment, high-pressure pumps with energy recovery turbines, RO modules, post-treatment equipment, chemical storage and feed systems, and distributed control system (DCS) based instrumentation, control and communication systems. Integration into and interfaces with existing utilities, systems and facilities shall be provided. Plant simulator shall be designed and installed.
SBG-PCM successfully completed construction of Utilities and Offsite for Jubail United Petrochemical Company, a Sabic affiliate in Jubail early this year. The project involved complete construction work including civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation work. Structures constructed included intake and outfall basins, plant firewater system, prefabricated substation buildings, seawater / cooling water system, and a 20-cell seawater cooling tower.
The project achieved a record 48 million safe incident / accident-free man-hours, in which SBG-PCM contribution was more than 7 million man-hours.
Considering extremely good record of safety, quality, workmanship and schedule compliance, SBG-PCM has been awarded expansion project for utilities and offsite where construction of phase II is being carried out.
– SBG-PCM is presently executing five major construction projects with Royal Commission in Jubail II Area and two major construction projects with Sabic affiliates, including Yanbu Petrochemical Complex Project (Yansab) in Yanbu and also executing Gulf Farabi Petrochemical Project in Jubail.
Plant maintenance services
SBG-PCM has its operational facilities in Jubail and Yanbu located in the industrial support area, with proximity to industries, which help it to fulfill the commitments to industries in case of emergency requirements. SBG-PCM has its designated emergency callout groups, as part of its operation and maintenance to attend such cases.
• This year, SBG-PCM successfully completed several major turnaround projects such as Yanpet Debottlenecking Project, Sharq T/A, Ibn Sina T/A, Sadaf T/A, Saudi Aramco Riyadh Refinery T&I, Petrokemya T/A, etc.
• Early this year, SBG-PCM successfully completed a challenging modification work in Yanpet during plant shutdown. Extensive modifications on 11 columns/towers of height, varying from 30 to 78 metres, have been carried out by SBG-PCM which include hydro-cutting and removal of top section of a column and fixing of new section and welding, replacement of internals of all columns and modifications of nozzles. Modifications and replacement of internals of 23 vessels, hydrojet cleaning of exchangers, vessels and columns were also part of the work. SBG-PCM had carried out all associated modification works in civil, piping and mechanical during this shutdown.
• Recently SBG-PCM was awarded three major maintenance/shutdown jobs in Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery Co & Saudi Aramco Yanbu Refinery in Western Region.
Catalyst handling
• This year SBG-PCM successfully completed several catalyst handling projects in petrochemical plants such Yanpet, Sasref, Ibn Sina, Sadaf, Sharq & Sabayak.
• SBG-PCM has successfully completed the catalyst change out of four (4) Ethylene Oxide Reactors in Ethylene Glycol Plant at Yanpet Yanbu. There were 7,251 tubes (ID 26.27mm and 8,000mm long) in each reactor with a total weight of 112, 400 kg catalyst. The entire job was planned for as a pacer-setter schedule of 11 days and SBG completed this job in 91/2 days (11/2 days ahead), which is a record in Yanpet Plant Turnaround history.
Heat treatment services
SBG-PCM carried out all the heat treatment works, which were required for their ongoing mechanical / piping works and also possess the long form blanket contract with Petrokemya and SASREF for all types of Heat Treatment Works.
Trading refined petroleum
products
SBG-PCM is an approved off taker with Saudi Aramco and other GCC National Oil Companies for all their refined products such as: LPG, Naphtha, Gasoline, Fuel Oil & Bunker Sales, Jet A1, Gas Oil (Diesel) & Sulphur.
Investments
SBG-PCM is active in developing new industrial projects with other private sector (local and foreign) players in the oil, gas and mining fields. Currently SBG-PCM is an equity shareholder in TAYF, Jubail and Yansab, Yanbu (Sabic companies) and also a shareholder in Marafiq Company.
