Al-Jazeera Paints Factory started its business in the Saudi Capital Riyadh in 1979 as a small trading establishment, which was the core for the establishment of Al-Jazeera Pigment Factory that was established in the UAE.

The factory continued producing pigments until the middle of 1993, the date when the production of Al-Jazeera Paints factory started. Those foundations were laid in 1991 at Khamis Mushayt, Assir Area, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The factory has developed and its production is on the increase in concurrence with the increase in demand due to the factory's tremendous efforts.
At the beginning the production was very limited. By the end of 1994 the production represented 80 per cent of the maximum capacity of the factory production. In order to meet the demand of the consumer, the company decided to expand the factory in 1996. The total production capacity became 36,500 tonnes by the end of 2000.
In 2002, the factory was provided with advance machines so that its production would become 50,000 tonnes per year.
Laboratory and field research
From the beginning, it paid attention to the issue of providing the factory with modern advanced machines with high technology and high productivity.
It provided the factory with the latest technology in the field of quality control with the aim of maintaining high level of quality.
Also the company provided the laboratories with modern testing equipment for performing the test and calibration process as well as to control the quality of production. The company attaches great importance to the researches by providing all requirements of research and performing practical tests.
It has established testing and calibration devices. The tests are performed in the laboratory in accordance with the Saudi standard specification and American standard (ASTM).
Also the company established a centre for field researches. It is the first of its type in the Middle East area, it says
At the centre, researches are performed on various types of paints in ordinary climatic circumstances.
The specifications of this centre are conformed to the specification of the field researches centres in Florida State.

From the health and environmental overview and the great concern powered by Al-Jazeera Paints, the company developed in its high technology laboratories one product to prevent the pollution of drinking water, "Jaz Tank Coating".
The Jaz Tank Coating is a two component self-priming product, based on special solvent free non-toxic epoxy resin and hardener.
It is a protective tank lining on concrete and steel surfaces. It has both chemical and corrosion resistance and is also suitable for application to water treatment works, breweries, dairies and food processing plants. It is easy to clean because of the smooth finish.
The Jaz Tank Coating is healthy and safe because all the ingredients in the paint are positive listed to FDA, and approved by Water regulations Advisory Scheme WRAS-NFS which says that it is environmentally friendly and has no bad effects on health.
