Indian engineering and construction company Punj Lloyd Ltd said it has signed a letter of intent with Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co to build a low density polyethylene plant in Saudi Arabia.

Punj Lloyd signed the fixed price service deal through its wholly owned unit, UK-based Simon Carves Ltd, a Punj Lloyd notice said.
No financial details were provided in the release.
The plant, which is to be built at Saudi Kayan’s petrochemical complex at Al-Jubail Industrial City, is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2010, the release added.
Saudi Kayan Petrochemical is an affiliate of Sabic.
