Dr Amna Aldahak

Emirati women are playing a central role in shaping a sustainable and prosperous future for the UAE, said Dr Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, on the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day.

She says the country has developed an innovative global model for women’s empowerment.

Dr Amna says the approach goes beyond opening opportunities, focusing instead on equipping women with science and knowledge to enable them to lead with creativity and innovation.

Highlighting the link between empowerment and sustainability, Dr Amna has praised the ‘We Plant for Sustainability’ initiative launched by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).

She says the programme connects women’s participation in agriculture with food security and environmental protection.

"The remarkable achievements of Emirati women stem from an exceptional vision and a dedication to building societies that value both progress and sustainability," she noted.

In a message to Emirati women, Dr Amna says: "Continue to create, lead, and give, for you are the fundamental pillar for a more prosperous and sustainable future for our nation."
