Masdar has provided solutions for clients including Sabic

It is six years since Masdar was established as an offshoot of the Saudi-based engineering firm Dar Al Riyadh Consultants Group.

In that time, Masdar has successfully built up a solid reputation in the supply of engineered material requirements for the Middle East's oil, gas petrochemical, utility and other industrial sectors.

With Saudi Arabia's industrial sector set to witness tremendous growth and offer exceptional opportunities in years to come, Masdar appears well-placed to offer multi-discipline product solutions in mechanical, electrical, oilfield and process automation.

With in-house capability to engineer, select and layout client requirements of products and systems from its head office in Al Khobar and satellite offices in Jubail, Yanbu, Riyadh and Jeddah, Masdar is fully equipped to offer cutting edge services to clients and facilities throughout Saudi Arabia and further afield. The company also draws on the global presence and capabilities of its international partners, ensuring that all solutions are innovative and of international standard.

Highly competent staff are a striking feature of the company's business philosophy, and are fundamental to providing the best range of solutions, which include the following:

Control systems: Masdar offers solutions for total plant automation based on Distributed Control Open Architecture Systems (DCS) Utilised Controls or Modular Redundant Programmeable Logic (PLC) controllers.

Cooling systems: Masdar systems cool as low as -40 deg C, and range and volume are no constraint. Masdar offers economical solutions with low power consumption and equipment which requires negligible maintenance.

Energy systems: Masdar is geared to providing energy conservation solutions as an alternative source of power. This is done through Captive Power generation, utilising waste or used energy, cogeneration or combined cycle generation. Masdar provides this from a range of products including gas turbines, steam-fired VAC, hot water-fired VAC, exhaust gas boilers and others. To this capital equipment, Masdar will add state-of-the-art Power Monitoring Systems, Power Quality Improvement Systems and Controls to ensure effective savings and conservation of energy.

Filtration systems: From a range of products including Simplex, Duplex and automatic strainers and filters, coalescing gas filters, multistage fuel filters, oil filters, bag filters, hyperzone sand filters, self cleaning sand filters and cascading strainers, Masdar and its partners have a solution for any filtration problem or requirement. The filters and strainers are accompanied by sequence controllers, control panels, instruments and all necessary accessories. The systems can be provided with all necessary flow requirements such as pumps, valves, and measuring instruments for flow, temperature, pressure etc.

Motor systems: Masdar provides Smart Motor Management solutions, including Soft Starters and Variable Frequency Drives, from Solid State Devices. Soft Starters provide smooth acceleration, without arching, chattering or vibration problems.

Power systems: Power Monitoring Systems (PMS) is a data acquisition, monitoring, analysis and control system for substations and plants. It simplifies the writing and equipment requirement of a traditional SCADA system; it keeps power quality up, costs down and operations running smoothly; it performs power quality analysis; it is affordable and cost effective, reliable and adaptable, easy to implement; and Masdar can provide engineering, commissioning and service support in Saudi Arabia.

Process systems: Masdar offers comprehensive solutions for online measurement of process variables. Products and services include Radar Tank Gauging systems; a comprehensive field instrumentation package; portable and fixed continuous gas monitoring systems; analytical equipment for oxygen and other gas concentration; emission and environmental monitoring system.

Pumping systems: From a range of end suction pumps, split case pumps and vertical pumps catering to almost any flow and head requirement, Masdar is capable of producing a solution for any system.

Companies across Saudi Arabia have benefited from Masdar's solutions. For Saudi Aramco, Masdar supplied, installed, supervised and commissioned Digital Power Meters at a 13.8kV substation and Ju'aymah Gas Plant.
