
A senior official at the Omani Oil and Gas Ministry said that Oman is planning to boost its output of gas by 14 per cent to 72.9 million cubic metres per day (mcmpd), up from 63.9 mcmpd produced last year, a report said.
According to the official, the gasfield development budget for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) had doubled in 2007 from 2005.
The sultanate’’s crude oil and condensate production was anticipated to decline to 716,700 barrels per day (bpd) this year from last year’’s output of 737,600 bpd, the senior ministry official added.
