At the beginning of 2000, UAE celebrated the drilling of its first oil well half a century ago. In the seventies of the last century, and as the oil and natural gas sector started to become commercialised, the need for infrastructure and facilities to boost this fast growing-industry became evident.
Thus, Abu Dhabi Drilling Chemicals and Products Co. (ADDCAP) and National Maritime Services Company (NMS) were established in the late seventies, along with the other Adnoc subsidiaries, to cater to these needs.
Following a thorough investigation into the operational situation of ADDCAP and NMS, Adnoc opted to merge the two companies after acquiring full ownership rights of their capital base.
Hence a new company, known as Esnaad, was incorporated to further promote the same role that was previously played by both companies.
Esnaad, fully owned by Adnoc, was established to consolidate the facilities operating a modern logistics base and a fleet of boats to serve the oil and gas industrial sectors of the region.
