Hi-Force’s product offering

Hi-Force, one of the leading global manufacturers of high pressure hydraulic tools has recently launched a new series of two speed manually operated hydrotest pumps (MHP). The MHP series comprises of five models with varying pressure capacities from 100 to 1000 bar.

The Hi-Force research, development and design team, based at the manufacturing facility in UK, has developed this new series of hydrotest pumps with reliability and versatility in mind, says a company spokesperson and adds: “The MHP series of pumps is suitable for use with a wide variety of fluids including water. Manufactured predominantly from high quality aluminium alloy, with stainless steel piston assemblies, the MHP pump series is lightweight and robust in use.”

The pumps two stage piston design gives a high flow low pressure stage of 50 cubic cm up to 50 bar pressure and incorporates a smooth manual changeover from low to high pressure output. Each pump is supplied with a multi positional 610 mm operating lever for increased operator comfort, and for ease of use and added safety, all models are fitted with a factory pre-set relief valve.

This superior MHP series of pumps has been developed and designed to offer the ideal solution for major applications, including hydro-testing of pipes, pressure vessels, valves and also back-up systems and other pressure retaining equipment, prior to commissioning.

The range is also available without a fluid reservoir and comes supplied with a mounting kit for easy attachment to any specially designed fluid reservoir and an operating lever.

The Hi-Force philosophy of offering a complete service package to support its customers’ needs and requirements extends to tool rentals, on-site services, repair and calibration and training. “With such an extensive array of products within the Hi-Force range, many clients cannot justify the high capital outlay to purchase, especially where their needs for the products are relatively short term or even simply for a one off job. A comprehensive fleet of rental tools is maintained both at regional offices and at participating distributors worldwide and Hi-Force actively promotes and encourages its tool rental services package,” says the spokesperson.

Hi-Force offers a first class on-site service package which includes bolting services from a simple bolt up of a single flange joint to major construction and maintenance shut down projects. Combined with the expertise of a highly trained and experienced workforce, the company has established an excellent reputation for carrying out efficient, safe and competitively priced on-site jobs, well within client specified time periods.

According to the company all Hi-Force offices worldwide and some of its participating distributors operate a fully equipped workshop repair facility, using the latest state-of-the-art repair and testing equipment and techniques, carried out by trained technicians. Also, all the service centres carry good stocks of commonly used spare parts and are able to offer a guaranteed repair service for all their products as well as most international competitor brands.

“Hi-Force is fully committed to ensure that all of its own workforce, as well as those of its authorised distributors, are fully trained and competent to offer end-users the correct and proper technical advice when operating Hi-Force hydraulic tools. Hi-force product training courses can be tailored to suit individual needs, and can be held for any number of days depending on the application and requirements of the customer. Hi-Force distributor, Kuwait Oxygen & Acetylene Company (KOAC) has recently secured a large order with a local contractor for the supply of low profile hydraulic torque wrenches and air driven torque pump sets. As part of the agreement, Hi-Force will also be delivering on site product training for 64 technicians, demonstrating the safe and proper operation of the hydraulic tools.

Hi-Force is approved by the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) for the provision of Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI) training courses in line with industry standards and practices. With many years of ‘hands-on’ experience in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, as well as power generation and construction, Hi-Force’s ECITB approved trainers have the technical and practical knowledge and understanding to deliver the accredited training courses. They are, of course, also fully trained in various mechanical and high pressure hydraulic tools used to deliver the training courses.

Courses are held on a regular basis and are carried out in ECITB approved training schools located in the UK and the Middle East, with additional ECITB approved training schools being set up in Malaysia and South Africa later this year.
