Al Hammam Company for Construction and Maintenance (AHC), a wholly owned Saudi construction company headquartered in Ras Tanura, was established in November, 1982.
Since then, AHC has consistently positioned itself as a trusted partner of the industry.
With established offices throughout Saudi Arabia, AHC has a proven capability to provide professional construction and maintenance services for civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation projects for industrial facility owners and leading international EPC contractors.
AHC is strongly associated with lump sum turnkey (LSTK) project work as well as its general contracting in Saudi Arabia. It has strong credentials in project management, procurement, cost control and human resources and is positioning itself for increasing work in Saudi Arabia, and the GCC countries.
The recent award of a prime lump sum procure build (LSPB) project by Saudi Aramco for the construction of cogeneration facilities at Riyadh Refinery further underlines the successful track record of AHC.
The company has established multiple operating centres across the Kingdom to serve its project work primarily specialising in heavy construction and electro-mechanical contracting.
Over the last five years, AHC has been involved on more than 20 projects for Saudi Aramco with an impressive reference list of project work in hydrocarbon and industrially-related projects.
The 10-month contract for the integration of new power and steam generation facilities at Riyadh Refinery was signed in June this year.
AHC is providing overall construction services for this cogeneration project including project management, and equipment and materials procurement. Completion is scheduled for next March.
Saudi Aramco is actively planning power generation facilities that reduce electricity costs. For Riyadh Refinery, AHC is involved in the installation of 50MW cogeneration facilities including a combustion gas-turbine power generating system and a heat recovery system. This month AHC completes the CVHR Crude Vacuum and Heater replacement project at Riyadh Refinery.
The scope of works involves replacement of the existing crude and vacuum heater units with AHC required to construct foundations, fabricate and install pipe rack supports, the installation of all process piping, erection of all crude and vacuum heater modules, and flare and hot oil stacks.
The contract also involves the electrical and instrumentation works for Yokogawa Centrum 3000 DCS system.
During the project AHC has fabricated 750 tonnes of steel, installed more than 10km of piping, employed a workforce of 350 and used 1,200 tonnes cranes for the heavy lifts.
Other works at Riyadh Refinery have included replacement of air compressors and associated electrical and piping work and the construction of metering, power and sampling skids including all instrumentation and communications to the process control rooms.
AHC has handled the modernisation of bulk plants in Qassim, Sulayil, Riyadh and Najran involving the installation of tanks and dykes, process piping, manholes, pump stations, loading and unloading terminals, and also oily water systems.
AHC was also responsible for terminal management systems, fire water systems, and associated electrical and instrumentation works.
The firm also commissioned the Siemens and ABB instrumentation and control systems. AHC has also handled shutdown and turnaround projects at Riyadh and Jeddah refineries.
Additionally, AHC has been involved in upgrading and expanding Riyadh refinery, Rabigh refinery and Jizan bulk plant facilities.
Works have included marine storage units and mooring systems for offloading tankers. AHC maintains ISO 9002 certification backed by a specialist workforce of more than 1,400.
Its areas of operations include heavy mechanical erection, fabrication and piping installation, electrical works and instrumentation, technical and craft manpower supply, and construction equipment rental.
With growing regional demand for electrical power and cogeneration plants from both the oil and gas sector, and expansion in the industrial cities of Jubail and Yanbu, AHC expects to play an increasing role in this important sector.
